Re: [IDEA] Accents
I mean, nothing in this game is vital. I think at this point, every one of the other IRE games has an accent option, so the code is there.

Re: Announcements post #77: Music, bands, performance!
I'd really like it if instruments were actual items. I realize that would mean spending some out of marks but I'd consider that a fair tradeoff for having different models for each (no mechanical difference, just different descs). I'd *totally* spend credits to customize my synthboard.

Starmourn on the Titans of Text
Greetings everyone,
A month or so ago, Laura and I participated on this podcast with the Titans of Text. And today is the day it was aired! If you want to hear us talk a little about Starmourn and our experience with it, here it is. We both had great fun with it!

Announcements post #77: Music, bands, performance!

Subject: Music, bands, performance!
Ever wanted to be a Nanorock star? Had dreams of becoming a Streampop icon? Or do you just like to chill and jam out some Dreamfunk once in a while?
Well all your dreams are about to come true as we are now introducing PERFORMANCE. There is a budding musician in everyone, or so we like to believe. So you may now put our theory to the test and go out and perform music for the masses.
Before you do so, you need to choose a PERFORMANCE INSTRUMENT. Choose between GUITAR, KITHDRUMS, VOIDPIPES, SYNTHBOARDS, EUKULELES and VOICE. The choice matters very little to us, but it might mean the world for you! Take care, you can't switch for now after a choice is made.
After you have an instrument of choice, seek out venues where you can perform in the world and PERFORMANCE PERFORM. Focus only on your songs and do nothing else until the performance is over, or you will lose focus. Currently there are venues at: Lamentations on Omni, Gravity in Haven City, Malice in Litharge and the Verge in Song City. As you perform, you will get better at it and increase in level, increasing the amount of tips you make from a performance and unlocking other options. (Yes, you gain marks every time you perform and the better you get at it, the more you get. Don't expect to become rich overnight though, you start from the ground up. Consistency is key!).
Once you reach level 3 in performance (which you can always check via PERFORMANCE STATUS), you may form a BAND! That's right, your very own band. Become as famous as Talking Tukkav or Shentones! You can invite up to 4 people to join your band and you can then start getting GIGs. GIGs are awesome opportunities to make yourself and your band known to the masses! Schedule concerts, entertain the audience during the concert and grow your band's popularity (and income). But be warned, miss out on your scheduled concerts and the fans won't be happy at all.
Note: It costs 25,000 Marks to form a band!
Notes about GIGs:
- A band can have a gig/concert once every 20 hours
- You can schedule gigs in advance and it is recommended to do so. You will always have a NPC audience and the more time passes before a concert, the more word gets out and more tickets sell
- Missing a concert will severely impact your reputation. You need ALL members in the venue before you can PERFORMANCE BAND GIG PERFORM and initiate the start of a concert
- Using PERFORMANCE BAND GIG PERFORM [color] [emote] once a concert is started will allow you to display colored, free form emotes for everyone in the room to see! It is your responsibility to make the show entertaining for those in the audience!
- Be sure to PERFORMANCE BAND GIG CONCLUDE and end the concert before the day rolls over or the concert will be considered to have been missed
- You need at least 4 players in the room (outside band members) in order to gain popularity from a concert. Otherwise, you only get the money from the NPC tickets.</pre>

Re: Really want to like this game but...
The tedium isn't much different from other IRE games though. Earliest levels are slower, yes - but they still rise up pretty quickly in my experience, you will just spend more than an hour in the game's Minia/Lodi equivalent. And once you're past level 20 the smoothed out level curve really shows. I'd say reaching level 50 in Starmourn is significantly faster than 70 in other IRE games (the current level cap is 75 hence the differing numbers).
And even so, I saw many low level players engage with others meaningfully in ways that aren't just pve hunting. The only content that's really locked from them is pvp because you need level 60+ to meaningfully contribute to that. However, at the moment factional pvp is mostly dead anyway, so they're not missing out on much.

Re: Announcements post #74: New Storyteller for Song!
Thank you @Eukelade, I am very excited to be here!
To everyone: Please keep filing those bug reports! I love tuning things, finding inconsistencies (and fixing them)!
To Song: Please, if you are interested in furthering your roleplay, send me a message (on here or in-game) with any or all of your character's: history so far, goals, fears, relationships, and YOUR ideas on how together, we can make Song (and the game?) better for everyone!

Please give our newest Storyteller, Ferenzi, a very warm welcome.
Ferenzi is here to help players in the Song Dominion advance their agendas, flesh out the faction, and make the world feel more alive. They'll also be doing their part to keep things behind the scenes running smoothly by lending a hand where needed (someone needs to help Soren dig people out of space-bending Escher campgrounds, right?)
They've already hit the ground running with a bunch of bug fixes and a secret project! We are eager to see what else they're capable of! </pre>

Re: Announcements post #72: Planetary Exploration Now Live!
I am enjoying it all so far, but not being much of a space-goer, I mostly wander around triangulating just for fun, and not picking up the resources. The main deterrent to me for doing anything with pickup, asides from not really enjoying flying around slowly in space, is that (1) I forget where stuff is, and what it was that should be picked up, and (2) sometimes no one else is around who has interest in picking up stuff. So it kinda sits there, forgotten, and I can't even designate it to anyone.
Do you think we could get some kind of command to show all stuff waiting for pickup, and where? (And maybe even how long it's going to be there?) WILDERNESS PICKUP LIST?
And then, maybe a command to designate everything on that list to someone else? Like WILDERNESS DESIGNATE ALL <person> or something?
I rather hope we have ~24 hours to pick stuff up, too, that way we can essentially designate stuff for asynchronous pickup, since currently the population isn't all that booming in some factions. It would be really neat if a faction had like a few people who are just the pickup crew, and would just fly around coordinating a pile of pickups!
Might also help us feel better about getting like 3 units of a thing, if we can manage to generate a larger pile of it, from multiple people triangulating within the same day! Even if the resources are just randomized (vs specific planets giving specific resources), with a larger list of stuff to choose from, the pickup folks can essentially plan a route with like one scoop out for X gas, and drop off asteroids as needed.
