Re: XP Requirement needs to be Lowered and Quest Logs need Updates
I like it. At first it seemed slow but after every level I felt a noticeable increase in power, health especially. There are tons of things to do that aren't level mandated, like ship combat. Not only that but even lower level abilities are pretty powerful. I think they're going for "newbies are useful too" approach.

Re: XP Requirement needs to be Lowered and Quest Logs need Updates
Put me in the camp of liking a slow leveling curve. If it gets dull take a break and interact with many of the other available systems. I would be sad if the PvE content was used up in a handful of weeks.
Also keep in mind as people start getting credits, bashing areas free up, quests become known, and guides are written the average pace is going to increase significantly. It is important the base rate is slow enough to allow that.
Re: Give feedback before weapons/items break!
Yeah, I can definitely see some warning when your stuff gets low! We'll get this added at earliest opportunity!

Re: The Ideas Thread
I think one thing that is missing from the game right now is the ability to send a broadcast to other ships around yours. I can see that the lack of having the ability to do this will probably cause problems later in the game when multiple ships are trying to communicate while belonging to different factions. Using Crew would be a hassle as there is no way to moderate who is in your crew.
A new ship command, SHIP BROADCAST would be my preferred solution to this problem. It could potentially look like this.
Ship broadcast
-----
SHIP BROADCAST <text> - Broadcast your message to ships within your ship beacon strength.
-----
SHIP BROADCAST <text> - Broadcast your message to ships within your ship beacon strength.
SHIP COMMSCREEN <TELLS|BROADCAST|BOTH> - Allows you to screen tells or broadcasts or both. If are you in another ship's broadcast range and become broadcasted, you will be alerted but not shown what the message was.
Broadcast should require and consume balance.
Thoughts?

Re: The Ideas Thread
For roleplay and PvP Purposes, a Sector based Space chat would be awesome. Something that would allow us to talk to all players flying within the current sector like we use the SAY command in a planetside room.

Speaking of hacking passwords:
(Celestine): Diombra says, "So I just had an awkward word for this hacking password... HYMEN."
(Celestine): Viola says, "At least you broke in, Diombra."

Re: Is this acceptable?
Hmm, well, I came up with all the races, and I am completely unfamiliar with Warhammer other than knowing it has space orcs and something about an Emperor. I'll be having a word with the contract artist that produced our concept art.

Development Updates - December 22, 2018
Welcome to the first of what I hope to be weekly or biweekly updates just to let you guys know what's happening and what we're focusing on at the moment!
Naturally, we're only a week old, so a massive portion of our time is being spent triaging problems from the initial influx of players. We're powering through them at the highest possible speed, with most of the team putting in 14+ hours a day every day this week to try to make sure that everyone is fixed up at earliest opportunity! Many thanks go our to the team for working so tirelessly!
Alongside triaging bugs and the usual stuff, the development team will be focusing on the following items this week:
- PvP costs and effects balancing - making changes on PvP-based rewards and penalties (be it time spent in regeneration, as well as things like cloning fees and xp loss/gains stemming from PVP).
- Class balancing and bugfixing - ensuring that the oddities with your skills and abilities are all worked out.
- Adding/adjusting area accessibility - travel to racial homeworlds and some non-factional areas is partially hindered as a result of factional enemying, so this may involve things like additional transports to/from voidgate irises to these non-factional areas of the game.
- Factional governance issues and problems - we want to make sure that each faction has a functioning system, so we'll be polishing up a number of the core systems here to make that possible with a minimum of fuss.
- Captaincy, economy, and other things - we're going to tweak some things in Captaincy, like lowering the level requirement for space mining and/or gas gathering, as well as add Captaincy gains to other areas of the space system so you have more options for raising Captaincy XP.
- An optional profanity filtering system - I've had a lot of feedback from players that they'd like a way to filter out the more flavorful language in the game, so we'll be working on a system there that will give them the option to
- Quests - continuing to smooth out the main storyline, adding more side quests and hacking challenges, and improving quest rewards.
Since it is Christmas this week, I just wanted to wish you guys a great holiday season, however you celebrate it, and wanted to say thanks for being part of the Starmourn world!

Re: Scatterhome Swearing
I'll save you some time, so you can get right to being offended all over again: You're behaving, if not childishly, then pedantically.BadPenguin said:It's funny watching you all attack someone's character for criticism towards someone being insulting. This kind of toxic community is what drives people away. I am not new to IREs I've been playing them since Imperian was a year old. I have spent countless thousands of dollars on this game and I expect to never hear an admin refer to people as childish and needing supervisor because he doesn't agree with use of venacular. It doesn't matter if they are a AAA game company they are a business and as a paying customer I do 100% expect every administration communication to be completely professional in every way because that is what he is getting paid to do.
Someone saying something you disagree with isn't rude. Rude is what you all are doing personally attacking my Character just because you don't agree with what I am saying.
It also doesn't matter if they were actually being childish. It is completely disrespectful for any one who respresents the company to be talking that way about it's players.
You should also expect to be spoken to frankly by me. Been doing it for as long as Iron Realms has existed. Certainly not going to stop now.
