Ōtsutsuki Interface (GUI)
Other snapshots and a short video of space flight can be found here.
Ōtsutsuki Interface
- a flat design (minimalist user interface)
- a tabbed chat (communication captured via GMCP - no triggers needed)
- information (a quick overview of quests, room players, mobs & items, and combat afflictions/defences)
- map data (mudlet mapper plus in-game ground and space maps; will work on the hacking map when I next hack a terminal!)
- mindsim data (character status and wetwiring information as well as your current in-game target)
- f-key modules (different modules that you can toggle on and off via click or keybinding)
- stat gauges (tracks your resources - gauges will update for each class!)
- tabbed targeting (that's right, folks, rotating between your in-game targets is as easy as `Ctrl+/`)
Happy mudding!
Re: Scatterhome Swearing
I think you are a bit misinformed. Iron Realms doesn't have a board, and it certainly doesn't have a dozen people making decisions about the game and its path. Tecton is the producer. Within certain very broad constraints (can't decide to change the business model unilaterally, for instance), he can do whatever he deems best for Starmourn.BadPenguin said:It's actually not Tetcons game. It's IREs game and that is a company ran by a board who makes it's decisions based on what makes the company more money. He is one person out of a dozen that makes decisions about the game and it's path.
Mudlet 3.16 – Holidays edition
Happy Holidays! This update adds an advanced text analyser, color map support for Starmourn's map download, and various quality of life improvements.
New text analyser
SlySven has worked hard and added a new text analyser to Mudlet! Once enabled in the options, select some text and hover over the right-click option to see a detailed breakdown the characters and which code points they use. This advanced option can help with writing triggers or Lua code when working with non-Latin languages or Unicode characters 🎄
Map colour support for Starmourn
A new game launched this month that has a lot of people excited about it - Starmourn! The game has out of the box support for getting a map out to Mudlet, but to a mixup, the colours the map uses weren't compatible with Mudlet. A Starmourn player jgh713 decided to take the matters into their own hands and added support for the colours, which now show up properly:

Re: Scatterhome Swearing
Because we're sad to have found that ridiculously restrictive language rules in the other IRE games turned out to be there for a damned good reason: Because the playerbase is even less mature than we thought it was.Flipilaria said:Guys this was a shitpost why are there 30 comments
Cosmpiercers
Recently in Song, there was a complaint that no one had ever explained Cosmpiercers to everyone. Like most conversations in the Song faction, this devolved into petty name calling, unwarranted hostility and so on.
While as a result of this conversation, Song have decided to clarify the role of Cosmpiercers, there should be public resources available to people, and more resources available even for the people who've been doing them.
Some questions/suggestions:
Can we have a way of finding out which Cosmpiercer is being attacked?
At the moment, we know people are dying to our guards, but not where.
If so, are we going to be able to actually defend Cosmpiercers in the future?
It can take so long to travel to a Cosmpiercer that by the time you'd arrive, the place would be lost. Turrets seem viable.
Can we have a personal command and faction command to list owned Cosmpiercers and what they provide?
For example, how many do I own and what marks will that reward me? Same for factions
Can Cosmpiercers give Marks to offline people?
If not, can we please have this be a thing.
Can we have a list of the value of different Cosmpiercer ranks in terms of marks?
Perhaps in the currently empty HELP COSMPIERCER file.
Do the Ishvana plan to re-take Cosmpiercers?
It'd be interesting if they did! Perhaps as part of a cycle? It'd be a bit sad to see them vanish.

Re: The tips and tricks thread
I’m a Jewish gal who grew up listening to horror stories of what it’s like to watch your uncle buried alive en route to a concentration camp because he couldn’t keep up. My sister married a German. He’s a nice chap. My grandmother, the Holocaust survivor, liked him. Times change. Civilisations aren’t homogenous.Crorr said:On the other hand, CA just got done with a bloody revolution to overthrow the corporatocracy, who in their last dying gasps promised literal worlds to the Song Dominion for their assistance and support, and Song waged a decades long war to try to collect. Most of our characters were born after that period if our in-game choice of ages went the way I think it did, but we would have been toddling along listening to papa lion/spaceelf/wookie/leezard tell us stories of those bastard [Rebs|Doms|Mercs|perverts|pirates] and their [<insert atrocity>] and how he/she/it/they singlehandedly took out a dozen of the [<negative adjective><slur>] with his/her/its/their [trusty turret|B.E.A.S.|Nanoprobes|BARE HANDS], etc., etc., etc.
EDIT: Modern parallel: there’s obviously tension today between Russia and the US. That doesn’t mean any time an American meets a Russian IRL it’s going to be a Mexican standoff. Russians and Americans can be pals. It’s cool. Your culture might not be the same and you might have opinions about the other country’s politics but it’s not like the two countries have an embargo going on. The average Russian does not have beef with the average American just for being American, nor vice versa.
