Re: Thanks for the RP! Vol. 1.
@Katherine and @Revelin for being interesting and fun to deal with.
@Flipilaria you've been great, and I'm cheering for you. I look forward to seeing how your character turns out even if she is my least favorite alignment!
@Cise The amount of time and effort you put into roleplay and your character makes me feel so thankful that we've met. I'm really excited to see how our characters turn out as they grow, mature, and solidify in their philosophical approaches. Was not expecting such a great continual presence from RPWHO.
@Mykel thanks for more tell rp, you're the man.
@Dakkis it is always so great to interact with you, we should do it more.
@Vincent one of my favorite new additions to Song, hands down.
@Mereas you are actually the most adorable space hamster.
@Sinturion and @Balthazar You are both great people, in character and out. The amount of patience I've seen you show towards me and others is honestly inspiring and it makes me want to try harder across the board to be more understanding and kind.
@Mavis and everyone else in the Dreya Dynasty (Especially Asteyr, Yara, and Alianna), you are all amazing.
@Digit and @Victoria I don't deserve either of you, it's a little sitcom trio between the three of us. Not a single interaction has gone by that I haven't been so thankful for you both. If I had to rate friendship on a scale of 1-10 you both are solid 15s.
@Mairon, @Hallen, and @Enn You both were my first close friends, the level of positivity you all exude is stupid high, please come back down to earth with the rest of us mortals. Thanks. You both are always looking out for other people. You three are so humble and giving.
And all the people who helped me with sparring, I still have a super long way to go, but thank you so much. Especially to @Zile we never really talked, never really interacted but the amount of time you've taken out to kick my ass and how positive and helpful you've been is mindblowing, so thank you. And I know you don't consider it as roleplaying, but at the end of the day, you helped my character develop whether you like it or not, so it counts!
This has been a long ass month, but we made it. And I missed people. So thanks for everyone who helped with anything at all or even just participated, thanks, all of you doing what you're doing, whether it involves me or not is what makes games fun and feel alive.
Roleplay QOL
Multiquote Emotes
This is obviously one that people have brought up already: the fact that in an emote, you can only include one quote-contained block of text. This obviously restricts emotes, because it means you either have to stuff a lot of neon-blue speaking text in one area, or be able to follow your emote up with says or another emote (depending on your style). For some people, this is fine; I don't mind having to vary how I interact with people, but I also type quickly and enjoy the flow. Even then, I get frustrated when I can break up a spoken sentence with action mid-emote.
Prepended Quotes
You can put some prepended text at the beginning of an emote with (), but this currently doesn't allow someone to start an emote with conversation. I'm sure there's some reason as to why, but it also causes us to feel sort of strangled when it comes to writing out emotes that don't feel stale, structure wise. Sometimes you just gotta talk first, man.
Expressions/Emoticons on FT
Targeting Inventory Items
You can target in-room items with $, but you can't use $ to target items in your character's inventory. This is weird, for obvious reasons.
Expanded Target-Referencing in Emotes
Please tell me if I'm wrong, but there doesn't appear to be a way to reference a target beyond using @name. It'd be nice to have ways to also reference him, his and he, the female options, and the non-binary options as well. (For instance, in Lusternia and Achaea, you can use some expanded emote targeting to get a sentence that reads "Miu points a finger at Spike, winking in his direction." to show as "Miu points a finger at you, winking in your direction." to the target.)
The Weird Space in Possessive Emotes
If you try to start an emote with 's, it adds a weird space between your name and the 's, instead of making it a possessive.

Re: Sexual Harassment Allegations
That is definitely a good way to start a productive discussion.Kestrel said:Oh, hey. Go flakk yourself.
Let me tell you one thing. Some players do not care about your OOC gender and would rather wish to play the game as ICly as possible. I am one of those people.
That does not make me suddenly a supporter of harassment culture or anything you might try to insinuate. That does not indicate the existence of such an oppressive culture either in any faction. A female player can drive another female player with same success. Any player can drive any other player via IC or OOC harassment, hence that is not specific to genders.
Hence it is a matter that can be dealt with proper methods I suggested.
Re: Requesting: Ban on rape RP, admin transparency, newbie protection
This isn't victim blaming at all and it is apparent to me that they very much do care but have faced mounds of frivolous issues over the last two decades or more that IRE has been operating.
In my opinion, this is a crystal clear and realistic progression for self care in this game.
Re: Requesting: Ban on rape RP, admin transparency, newbie protection
What do I do if I'm being harassed?
------------------------------------
Harassment is something we take very seriously, and it is our expectation that you do too. If
someone is harassing you, please first consider these guidelines:
You are not obligated to stay in RP or PvP situations that make you
uncomfortable. Know your boundaries and hold to them.
If someone is pushing a scenario you do not want (flirtation, sexual,
violence, politics, etc), clearly state that you want them to stop,
and leave.
If they persist after you have drawn your line, put them on IGNORE.
It does not matter if they are a friend, enemy, leader in your
organization: Their standing does not entitle them to your time.
If someone is annoying you, or you are having a bad day and they
are pushing your buttons, that's what IGNORE is for. This may
be all you need to do to solve your problem.
If their conduct was predatory, Issue them, or yourself if you are
uncomfortable. Help document a pattern to help the administration.
Do not issue frivolously, especially for harassment. Recall the
story of the boy who cried wolf, or look it up if you're not
acquainted with Aesop's works.
Do not abuse our willingness to help victims of harassment by
trying to get out of situations you have put yourself into,
especially when it comes to PK.
Re: Player Artwork/Designs?
Here is my latest. Enjoying the updates to ship forge.
Re: What other MUDS have you played?
SM reminds me of MKO in alot of aspects, which is why im enjoying it so much.
Please dont ever introduce a billion salves to heal yourself.
Re: Requesting: Ban on rape RP, admin transparency, newbie protection
Again, it comes down to common sense. If you do not want to participate in a type of rp there is a command to ignore the person as well as issues that will help to escalate the situation.
I will note that as long as I have been involved with IRE muds I can tell you that the staff DO take these issues seriously but they will not and should not take the stance of "guilty until proven innocent." They will do their due diligence in order to support the community and do what they feel is best for the game.
That very well may not line up with exactly what YOU think should be done.
EDIT: Some clarification.
