Announcements post #64: Titles, Honors and Economy Status.
<pre>From: Ilyos, the Arbiter
Subject: Titles, Honors and Economy Status.
Greetings Starmourners,
What good are all your hard earned achievements if you can't show them off, amirite? Well, now you can start showing off some of them. We've introduced the following:
- 5 new titles for the top 5 ranks (not players, but ranks) of explorers
- 5 new titles for the top 5 ranks (not players, but ranks) of hackers
- 5 new titles for captaincy, obtained at level 10, 20, 30, 40, admiral rank 1
- 2 new titles for people who complete shopfront honors
- Song Dominion and Celestine Ascendancy leaders can now display their position as a title
You can also display some of the honors you earn, via the HONORS FEATURE function. You can display MOST of them at this time, but not all. Notable exceptions are the newbie honors (the ones that refer to learning basic game functionality), manufacturing/factory ownership ones and a few others.
As always, this is a work in progress and more titles and honors lines will be added. Please feel free to comment in the forum thread with your ideas and suggestions for expanding this list.
You might ask why are there no honors and titles for manufacturing/factories...well, with our overhaul, some of the honors will probably change, get deleted or added. Therefore, it's unlikely that people could obtain some of the ones we currently have in game.
Regarding our Economy Update, we're working hard to make the experience as great as possible. Our awesome Garryn has just finished the first draft of our planetary exploration system and we're having fun playing around with it. We're in the process of creating the environments and enemies for it, so stay tuned for a little demonstration when that is done!

Just wanted to share some art I did of the Mech-U-Shine (I love the bots there :') they're so cute).

Re: Player Artwork/Designs?
Did a quick sketch of my character, a nanoseer Decheeran, during a lunch break when I needed to be thinking about something other than work. Might re-do it one day when I have more time to do a better job. Created with Procreate on an iPad.

I just want to say that those are the best 500 marks I have spent in game.

Soren was a very big help in the building process. A lot of the creepy plant descriptions in the area are his, as is the Mech-U-Shine with the adorable bots (so much love for those little guys) and the aggravated food cart owner.

She hasn't stopped. She's convinced she'll build up up a tolerance to them and impress the locals enough they'll hook her up with sweet augs.Eukelade said:I laughed out loud (for real) when you drank those drinks, and said, to my cat, "Why would she do that?"Slander said:Oooooh man I love this place. The whole Bushraki arc has been great (and sometimes stressful) but seeing this new area is amazing! Also, those drinks Slander should not be consuming. And the new gear! Thank you all, once again, for doing awesome stuff.

Re: New Dikamazi and Time-limited content
There are certainly no plans to remove items from player inventories after the event. As for the rest, we'll think about it, and as always, appreciate your feedback!!

Re: Newbie Here
Hey - so I play in Scatterhome, and run a mercenary company (of my own making!) of some renown. I can't talk to the experience of other factions but roleplaying for me can be found in absolute spades and with no effort at all from me, at most any time of the day. There's a lot of bashing to be done, too. The biggest thing is that you have to be ready, able, and willing to make your own goals. You should pick up a race that looks cool, that fits your character concept... because races have absolutely no mechanical benefit here. You should also pick the class that looks most interesting to you, because other than fury, none of them have a drastic advantage over one another.
There are three factions: Scatterhome, Song Dominion, and Celestine Ascendancy. Each has its own lore, but it's basically...
* Scatterhome is the space cowboys, unwilling to submit to any higher power. Think Firefly, if the Browncoats had broken off and took over their own asteroid belt instead of getting crushed.
* Song Dominion is the imperial militaristic overlords (like the Alliance from that same show)...
* Then there's Celestine, which is kinda like [every cyberpunk property] while we're drawing comparisons: hypercorporate entities in the future and the rebels fighting against them.

New Dikamazi and Time-limited content
First and foremost, let me say, I love basically everything about New Dikamazi. The people, the content, the culture, the scaling encounters, the quests, all of it (Even though that junkie took a petal from me for nothing!), but I'm very curious why the unique features in ND are time limited?
There's some absolutely golden stuff there that I feel would be wasted if it's just lost after the event is over. (I'm also unsure what exactly counts as "Unique Event Features" that will be leaving? The scaling? The Drops? The shops?
In any case, I feel that, instead of this being something new that eventually becomes "obsolete" (I use this in as neutral a term as I can, I am not saying that the area will be worthless without the event status, but just "moved past") that maybe instead, certain areas just work like this as an access to cultural drops and scaling equipment. You could make it sub-optimal compared to punching above your weight when hunting so it's not the "best" place, but these unique mechanics are something I feel should be encouraged, not just time limited.
