Re: Armor is (functionally) useless :(
umm am I misunderstanding this chart? There's a point where the naked person seems to be taking less damage than the armored person?
eta2: Oh, wait, these attacks have significant variance attached to them and I'm dumb! We need a bigger pool to make a serious guess, in my opinion.
(edited to fix a typo)

You need to subject this to more rigorous testing imo. But ofc an admin can comment on this.

Now that deaths are happening a little more frequently, a READLOG DEATHSIGHT would be really useful to keep track of them.

Can we get a mark subaccount that factories feed into and draw from? I'd love to see an actual earnings report

Re: Quality of Life Wishlist
- This has been asked for before, but we could use some kind of command to see what resources we have waiting for us on which planets after triangulation or designation, as well as how long we have to pick them up (if there even is a time limit, I don't think it's ever explained).
- If it exists and I'm just missing it, let me know, but we desperately need some form of DECAYLIST so that we can take stock of our items and when they decay.

Would it be possible to tweak the syntax for the Xenozoology Databank?
Currently, we need to do "XENOZOOLOGY DATABANK [ID]".
This often results in me scrolling up and down to look for the ID of the creature I'd like to read about.
It would be more convenient if it were "XENOZOOLOGY DATABANK [CREATURE]".

Re: Space obstacle & race courses that grant captaincy experience.
I'll just say, there are already multiple ways of getting captaincy experience without combat/incursions: refining, station missions, and I think completing npc market orders. They don't give a lot of experience once you are moderately high level (say, 15+), but getting captaincy exp without combat is still easier than getting normal exp without fighting mobs.
Races are still a neat idea to have - though they'd require a lot of effort to implement so probably low priority for now. But we should have them due to potential for fun, not just to have a source of non-combat captaincy exp. That source already exists.

- Please let us see the ABs of any class regardless of our own class. I realize we have the newbieaides power that lets us AB skills as a newbie, and it's great that we can specifically check to see what their skills are at. However, transparency for other classes' skills outside of player-made databases would go a long way toward helping people understand how things work, both in combating their foes' abilities and figuring out synergy with their allies. I don't see the value in restricting this ability to people who own a particular class.

Re: The Dank Crystal (Ta'Deth Crystal Thread)
There's an issue with relinquishing control of a CP that relates to caches because it could mean largely bypassing caches to get power consumables.
Vouchers come from two sources: CP captures and crystal turnins. 5x vouchers per CP capture per person present is probably going to be more efficient than cache fighting, so any consideration for implementing a means to relinquish control of a CP should be made in light of this fact. Engineer wormholes could exacerbate the problem.
Example: bring five people to take 3x low rank CPs, earn a total of 25 vouchers. Relinquish control. From there, either recapture when able for more vouchers, or stop capturing new ones to skirt the crystal upkeep.
Without any limitations, this could lead to production of vouchers without doing caches without having to pay increased upkeep. I think relinquishing control of CPs would be a good feature, but it's got to have some kinds of limitations.

Re: Clean Slate Cosmpiercer Thread
@Cubey, I'm not going to respond point-by-point, but I still stand by everything that I said. Diminishing returns, with CP-count as a factor, reduces the value of low-ranked CPs; it's just a fact. In my opinion, they should still be competed, not just the leftover garbage for whoever wants to exert the least effort.
"Hard cap, soft cap, diminishing returns" - in reality, these are just words, and they achieve the same thing. But let's just be clear that the only true limit, presently, is crystal farming. Nobody wants to overreach for cosmpiercers and drain the well dry. The entire premise of my suggesting that we can power/unpower CPs is to unshackle that fear and conservatism that is preventing us from wanting to engage the system further. We should not have to wait for the day that the long lost Starmourners return en masse to make the system work. Ata's suggestion to be able to return CPs to Ishvana is similar, but perpetuates the idea that many CPs are just not valuable and will be the unwanted leftovers.
So, this is where Song is now. I did "run the math" last week and advocated that we should take more cosmpiercers, we could afford it. People didn't want to take the risk, and even gave me the "What if <insert bread-winner> gets run over by a bus?" scenario. And they're not wrong; every faction is hovering around some 20-30 ranks because of this fear of risk around crystal draining. I hope you realize that, if every faction is happy to take its 30 CP ranks and go home, then we will never fight over CPs, and the Ishvana will have plenty of unoccupied CPs to use as summer vacation homes. By this design, there is no competition for CPs. Furthermore, now that Song has reached its crystal cap, we also have the prerogative to not compete in caches, because we have nothing to gain; just delaying the other factions from reaching their cap or boosting our K:D. Again, by this design, there comes a point where we all don't compete for caches either, because we can get away with minimal participation, whenever it's convenient or when the other sides are too bored to try.
I guess we'll see where it goes from here. But I just want to say that your post begins with "Sorry", and unless that's intended to be patronizing (which I don't), you shouldn't apologize for disagreeing. I'm not a professional game designer, and I can be wrong. I'm certainly not sorry for having an opinion, or for leaving it open to criticism. I think, at the end of the day, we all want to see the game succeed and for the community to have fun, and giving feedback and having discussions are the least we can do to help.
