This thread has devolved into pointless bickering.

I will say that as a player of Fortnite, I am terrible, and I often get frustrated and somewhat pissed at my awfulness when I die. I don't lose anything tangible from dying, but it still sucks and I dislike it greatly.

Sure, there's plenty of religions of various kinds. There are just no actual gods as exist in our other games.
-
Like many things in MUDs (such as how fast you can cross space, your unlimited inventory, etc), some things require some suspension of disbelief. Your BEAST suit is basically your character's size, but bulkier.

We make changes based on all sorts of things, including creating characters ourselves!
I was mostly just concerned that people weren't actually seeing the news.in XP Requirement needs to be Lowered and Quest Logs need Updates Comment by Aurelius December 2018

Just checking - you guys did see the Updates news with the xp requirement lowered from levels 1-10 and less so from 11-20 right?
-
There's going to need to be all sorts of adjustments and changes, including things like this most likely, but right now we're pretty focused on basic game stability, so this kind of thing is mostly going to wait until we've smashed more bugs.

Religion is far less important in Starmourn than in our fantasy MUDs. One thing there won't be in Starmourn is the kind of personification of any supernatural beings that you see in the Gods in our fantasy games, so unlike in our other games, where …

Can't sell them for real money.

We'll get it looked at, yeah. This is the kind of thing we tend to start conservatively with, because you guys react a lot better to changes that make things easier than vice versa, understandably.
Tecton, who I need to talk to about this… -
(Quote) Too obvious. Look behind the curtain, not in front of it, n00b. Who pulls Starmourn and Iron Realms' strings? EA? MI-6? The Chechens?
-
I'd be surprised if nearly every system doesn't need some adjusting.
-
Nice work! I think I'll get these added to the wiki and links added from the website as well. @Wuff won't be able to edit the wiki as it's not open for public editin…

For now you could also message yourself, though that is not ideal, admittedly.

(Quote) They're all telnet clients! Yours is just a lot more basic.
-
Wow, great to hear, even with all the bugs and improvements needed!

Starmourn is definitely made to work best with Nexus. There is no space spam in it. For a third party client, you're going to want to script something that shunts the space map to a separate window, so that there is no spam, just a nicely updating m…

(Quote) Space is curved, so naturally you aren't going in a straight line. We're just trying to simulate that.
(I joke, that's definitely not right.) -
There is no chance that would ever happen. You'd also be completely helpless as you'd not be able to see anything but the single room you're in, and would be an easy target for enemies to prey on you.

Ok, must be a security thing in chrome or something! Hope that fixed it for everyone.
-
Well, it was an http link, and I changed it to an https link now.

> It would be extremely useful to be able to separate individual chat channels (newbie, faction, private, etc.) into separate tabs, or recolor them specifically to be able to tell them apart in the scroll. This might be a client setting I haven'…

That is so weird. Chrome has no issues for me. It's just a link. When you hover over the button, what does it say in the lower left of chrome? Does it show play.starmourn.com?
-
Ok, thanks @Jasmine. Same thing happened to me.
-
Those of you for whom the play now button below the Starmourn logo on the website isn't working: What browser are you on? If you go to play.starmourn.com does it work?
-
We know, many people are.
-
(Quote) Correct, yep. That's the default telnet port, so you can pretty much always just ignore the port when connecting to us.
-
I am so excited! Just finished readying the changes to the front page of the website to switch from a coming soon to a "we're here!" thang.

(Quote) This!
(Although if two consenting individuals are doing it in private, it's not an issue. If it doesn't involve mutual consent, it's definitely not ok.)
