Doesn't seem to be possible to add images without using URL on these forums. On other IRE forums I can just drag/drop a picture in this box and it is uploaded. How come it's different?

What players can do here is help create an awesome environment that encourages people to return and hopefully spend some money on the game.
The roleplay, the friends, and the like. That keeps players coming back for more.
The whole whale thing is really IREs issue, it's not the responsibility of any player to stroke the ego of another.
Especially when whale retention is often done by balancing the game in favour of the whales and making the game potentially prohibitively expensive to get involved in (Archeage is an example here afaik).

1/2) For launch, we're mainly focusing on the class-specific weapons, but we have plans to open this area up more in the future. Re: Theft
Well, I think there's a fine line that needs to be worked around. On the one hand, having all your stuff taken and all of your progress destroyed can and will drive people from the game. "Lrn2code" and "lol git gud" aren't answers because the last thing we want to do is let irresponsible people drive away people who would have otherwise stayed just because those people didn't code right or aren't as experienced.
That said, Shatterhome is supposedly a haven for criminals and I can't see there being no theft or it being looked down on too hard by people in it, at least in some cases, and some of the races are specifically outed as generally being dirty enough to steal and engage in piracy. Plus mercenary work and the like. So it can't be gone entirely and keep that same sense of criminality. So there's got to be some kind of balance between allowing theft/criminal activity and protecting people from losing so much that they just don't feel like it's worth trying to progress or worth staying anymore.

Re: Theft
As long as it doesn't amount to "let your computer protect you from this" I'll be cool with it. If I can do something about it, rather than let my character/ship be paralyzed as whatever abilities leech whatever I've worked for happen, I'll be cool.
Sure, having another player submit makes you feel powerful, but having one's personal gains taken away in an instant, because I couldn't program the right triggers makes my time in the game feel less than worthless.

Re: PVE
I should note that while your PVE won't be as complex as a PVP fight, it will still be a lot more abilities while fighting mobs - most of our classes have strategies around layering effects and outcomes, so while you can just spam a straight damage attack, it won't be as efficient as using all of the tools at your disposal. Naturally, it comes down to what you're fighting, as Aurelius said, you wouldn't bother trying to do those sort of things on something that would likely die before you see the effects of your actions. If you're fighting something around your own level, where fights are not so trivial and one-sided, you'll definitely see advantages of experimenting with your toolkit!
