As someone who has never excelled at text games but still loves to play anything by IRE the roleplay is going to be my main priority and was wondering what concepts or styles you guys are considering playing.
I love the idea of, what I'm sure will be a stereotype, the grizzled human captain running black market shipping operations. Though a part of me wants to play a psychotically violent Rynari B.E.A.S.T.

Physical currency? Pssh, what is this? Marks are not physical items, noCoenzyme said:Will the management of money in the Starmourn, ie marks, be more automated like a modern day debit card? Or will it be similar to the other IRE games where money has a physical presence that needs to be picked up, put in your pack, and physically deposited at a bank location?

Hiya!
I didn't see an "introduce yourself" thread, so if I missed it, I'll gladly accept the flogging. I've been watching Starmourn from afar since it was announced, and I've purposely stayed away from info/updates because I didn't want to get myself too hyped up, but seeing as 2018 is winding down, and I'm extremely impatient, I had to finally come around. I've been consuming all the lore and information that's out there, and I'm incredibly excited to start exploring the universe when it opens!
I've been into MUDs for 20+ years (Avalon being my first serious foray into the genre), and I've been involved in all of the IRE worlds at some point with Lusternia and Achaea being my primaries. With Aurelius and Tecton's background and experience, I have high hopes that Starmourn is going to deliver on an epic space-centric adventure!
Looking forward to flying with some of you and turning the rest of you into dust.

Re: Will armor and weapon upkeep be substantial and will certain classes have more than others?
Classes generally have a similar amount of weapons/armor to maintain, only +1 on BEAST and -1 on Fury. Weapon and armor takes damage with use, and require repair, but this is trivial in terms of time needed to maintain them (there's a config option to automatically do this every time you walk through a repair shop).
Weapons and armor aren't crafted by players at all, they're item drops from bashing, so there's a wider array of different stats available across the various level bands.
Players with the appropriate tradeskills can craft mods for weapons and armor, which have multiple varying effects on each item.
