Re: Player-run Organizations/Clans
I am going to slowly build towards an order of star kith users who share my longing to burn bright before we fade away :-) I have to admit I have been writing for a couple of weeks now - about the connections between star kith, swordplay, meditation, art/poetry and romance/lovemaking, with the hope of using some of that material in time to lay foundations for a small clan. Just to be clear, I am inspired by Achaean orgs in that no one would expect every member to excel in every area, as each of us tends to focus on one or two. Still, this will be my vision of a well rounded warrior-poet (for now, I call myself a Dervish, but this may change :-) ).
My intention is to start by gaining a fair understanding of the game before reaching out to others who would like to join me. Next step: to gather a small group who wishes to share experiences and meet for rituals and social gatherings, and to build up from that (much like the Templar Order was established by a band of brothers). Somewhere in my visions I can see glimpses of a credit-build haven on a remote world, with interactive features such as the surrounding reacting to Players meditating in a certain way... Well, a W'hoorn can dream, can't he?

Re: Player-run Organizations/Clans
I think for me, first and foremost would be a novice network type clan, a place for a group of players in my org who like helping newbies find their way. We'll all be a little lost at the beginning so at the start it might be more about IRE vets helping people who haven't played an IRE before.
There's a few ways the theme could go once we're in game.
Depending on where I end up, maybe also some form of Void Kith Research group (depending on how the skills are presented) who try to learn more about void kith through the various lenses it's viewed through (mystic through to scientific). Potentially also with some focus on finding applications of void kith that are of benefit to the civ it's aligned with. (Got an idea about using void to slowly eliminate the issues on song if I end up there)
The group would likely in turn have a focus on exploration, scouring the sector for every last scrap of knowledge about the applications of void kith.

Re: Roleplay & You
From the staff side of things I am looking forward to a good mix of player types! We have put a lot of effort into creating a rich and immersive world for you so it will be especially rewarding to see how roleplayers integrate the lore and worldbuilding into their characters. However, I'm excited to see the players who will focus on PK and other aspects too.
This gets put out there every so often in IRE and other games throughout the MUD community, but if you haven't read this article on players who suit MUDS, give it a read: https://mud.co.uk/richard/hcds.htm. Richard Bartle is basically the expert on MUDS, and gives a thorough explanation not only of the four basic types of players, but why a balance of the four is vital to a game.
(this is getting off on a tangent soooo if someone were to start another thread with a poll about what Bartle type you think you are, that would be cool)

Re: Roleplay & You
My experience was first with Achaea, which had amazing RP (I still get goosebumps from the memories of the rituals and romance I've had), and then I was among the first players in Midkemia, which, in those initial days, had - as far as I remember - almost none. I recall being utterly disappointed and quitting fast. But then I figured something out. Achaea had years of accumulated Player experience, of people writing texts to fill the libraries, experimenting with rituals, conventions and other forms of interactions. Now, I am of the mind that the game will not just have a "vibrant roleplay community" unless we put work into it. The devs give us an engine and a world, but the RP environment will be ours to grow. And I intend to do just that.

Re: Theme Music
Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free,
You can't take the sky from me.
Take me out to the black,
Tell them I ain't comin back.
Burn the land and boil the sea,
You can't take the sky from me.
There's no place, I can be,
Since I've found Serenity.
And you can't take the sky from me.
Take me where I cannot stand.

Re: Character Concepts
Leathery old Ry'nari soldier-of-fortune and ex-pirate, a bit past his prime; has some standards, but generally world-weary and cynical. BEAST suit is pretty much cobbled together from the best battlefield salvage he could get his hands on; ugly and mismatched, but surprisingly effective. Wants to shoot whoever needs to be shot and get the job done with as little drama as possible, get paid and go home. Exceptions made for W'hoorn.
