Re: Which class are you?
There won't be laser swords, specifically, because the House of Mouse is notoriously lawsuit-happy and I don't want to risk it.

Some new NPC race art!
Just updated http://wiki.starmourn.com with race art for four minor NPC races.
The Eckin - blind underground quadrapeds
The Oescans - A poor, largely agrarian people.
The Oteel - An insectoid slave race of the shapeshifting Fatar.
The Atarsids - An arachnid race.
Enjoy! Will be updating the blog with it later today, but thought I'd share here first.

Re: Can't wait!
I keep hitting refresh on these forums to see if anyone has posted anything else. I think I'm excited about Starmourn...

Re: The State of PK (and a couple other questions)
Some of our goals with our combat system:
- Easy to learn, harder to master.
- No massive need for scripts
- Being able to distill what's happening down to basic information easily
- No single kill path, many classes have multiple kill routes to pursue

Open alpha weekend would be so, so awesome.

Re: Space Pirates
I'm considering a Hacker character tbh rather than PVP. My chars gunna be like that little nerdy kid who spent to much time in his bedroom and accidentally broke the net.

Re: The State of PK (and a couple other questions)
It's similar-ish to Achaea in the sense of having afflictions and balance (though we got rid of equilibrium). Wetwiring, not wetware btw. And yep, there's a cover system that lets you hide behind things, climb on top of things so that someone on the ground can't use close-up abilities on you (and vice-versa) etc. We'll see how it shakes out. I'm sure it's going to be evolutionary in terms of changes once we release it in the wild.
As for Earth, it disappeared 921 years before the game opens, so it's not particularly fresh to Humans. They also have absolutely no reference material or media of any kind from Earth, so what Humans know about Earth today is purely based on whatever the Humans the Free Fleet kidnapped told others, accurately or not. At this point, there'd be no such thing as sounding English or French, for instance - those Earth-based distinctions would have long-ago disappeared.

"Yep. Legends told of the Burger King and his armies of Whopper Cows back on Earth.. His eternal struggle with the royals of R. McDonalds House tore countries asunder.."

Yeah, same style, though different details. Almost no manual curing, for instance.Archer said:Can you speak to the combat? I've only ever played Achaea for muds.
Will it have the same style... like momentum and prep?
