Announcements post #50: Item Customization!

From: Ilyos, the Arbiter
Subject: Item Customization!
Greetings Starmourners!
We're very happy to announce the release of our Item Customization system!
If there's that particular item you found in the galaxy and are very fond of and never wish to lose, you can now make it last forever. If you're unhappy with the looks of a piece of furniture you happen to own or are tired of misplacing an old family heirloom, there is now a solution to those problems.
A customization is paid for with credits and may
- Change the appearance of an item (DESCRIPTION customization)
- Affect whether the item decays (NON-DECAY customization)
- Return to its owner (RESET customization)
Currently, Starmourn offers customization of props, junk, clothing, jewelry, food, and various other items. We do not currently offer customization for armor or weapons.
The details of how customization works in are listed in HELP ITEM CUSTOMIZATION. Typing CUSTOMIZE REQUEST by itself will give you a syntax menu that clearly defines the commands necessary for submitting and editing your request.
Have a most amazing day!

Re: I think we need some anti gas farming stuff
Just to let you all know, this is a matter of particularly high interest (resource availability, scarcity, etc) and we have heard your feedback, from both sides, and are working on some improvements. Just a little patience is required.

Re: Worth playing?
Let's keep things civil in this thread, please.
@BerserkELF, we are happy to welcome new players and returning veterans alike.
No, griefing is not ok. Please see HELP PK for our policies on this.

Re: Worth playing?
Everyone drops one on death. When I say can't, I mean it'd be dealt with by the admin as griefing.
Well... unless all those involved have opted into the open-pk system. HELP LAWLESS

Re: Worth playing?
- Theft is not a thing.
- You can't farm INRs with deathsquads.
- Taking junk/INRs which people drop on death is possible.

Re: Worth playing?
Not staff, but Slander is correct. You can't steal things here, other than INR's and junk on the ground when someone dies.

Re: Worth playing?
Just had another seer attempt it on me, he couldn't force those commands.

Re: Worth playing?
@BerserkELF I was a nanoseer for about 25 hours and never got close to the skill.
Also, the game is totally worth playing. I honestly idle most of the time working on code for my interface, and I have yet to be griefed.

Re: Worth playing?
Any time you die, PvP or PvE, your INR is left behind along with all the junk you collected. You can go collect your INR and scan it to get some of your XP back. And there's a few quests that require hacking, but other wise it's for getting through locked doors so far - there are plans to expand it. As for as force abilities, Nanoseer has one but I remember it being said that it's really limited and doesn't allow forcing GIVE or DROP commands.
