Re: Quality of Life Wishlist
I realize this one would probably take substantial time and energy, so I'm not expecting it any time soon, but I think it would help some people out immensely:
Expand the PATH TRACK functionality so that it can get you to any room that's connected to where you are via PTP, lift, transits, and/or voidgates. The code already handles two of these within the same area, so at the very least transfers feel like they'd be a viable addition. The big obstacle here aside from whatever is hardcoded to disallow for this in the first place, would be the tracking taking you through enemy territory and possibly getting you hit with guards, but ideally there would be a way to flag those areas (specifically capitals, main factional stations) so that if someone's enemied to that faction, they won't path track through it. Bonus points if there's an option to bypass this if someone's feeling brave.
The main reason I bring this up is that some people are seriously directionally hindered, even with maps (which aren't that helpful for some people anyway), and it can put them off of trying to navigate on their own entirely. You can ask friends, sure, but if you don't have any from the start when you're trying the game for the first time, this isn't necessarily an option. You can also ask strangers, if they're around, but feeling like you have some kind of autonomy in a big sprawling world like this can go a long way toward keeping people sticking around.

Hello!
Hello, I'm new to Starmourn but not new to IRE MUDs. It's good to get back into MUDs and potentially friendly communities. I've already seen some good people in-game and hope to build friendships with like-minded roleplayers. Cheers!

Re: Artifact Ideas
Any plans to make the 1600 classheal artifact do a tad more? It does +3% which kind of breaks my wittle heart. Also maybe a bounty hunter only artifact that boosts the ability to find people on ships? Like at least the quadrant or the station they are docked at would be nice

Re: Artifact Ideas
Thanks for the suggestions people. As previously stated, some of these won't happen.
I'd like to keep giving out class skills to a minimum, but I'm not completely against it. I'll think about the artie that lets you drag people into a room. Has some implications. I've given out heartstart as an auction artie, so you can see how rare a thing it is.
Stuff that hides you from QW/WHO won't happen and neither will abitilies that let you locate people who don't want to be found. Bounty hunters can locate other players and I feel like they need it and it's warranted. There will probably be abilities/arties that help you locate allies or people who are already in the same area with you. That is fine.
Invisibility will exist in the game in the future but most likely with a class that makes more sense to have it. (dun dun...)
Also, keep artie suggestions coming!

Re: ROLEPLAYERS WANTED FOR EVENT
Ren isn't really interested (and I'm not good with RP events anyway) but talk to me ingame for official support or sponsorship.

Re: Artifact Ideas
ill break it into bits heren1nj4 said:-snip-
1.) an item to drag targets into a room (much like the skill engineers have)
While I think this would be cool so other people could do it, I feel like the point of class diversity would be less with something like this around, I could for instance say something like I would enjoy a Quicksand arti that allowed my class to quicksand.
2.)an item that allows you to locate a target
I believe furies have the best form of track in uncharted areas, with firewalk. but inside of all tracked areas nanos have nano relay, and of course the Bounty hunters have hacking of the bounty terminal and locate, I think this could be a decent fray contract reward though, giving it to a reusuable arti seems a bit strong.
3.)an item that removed you from qw/who (and the API of characters online)
This item while I know the implications are good, but it makes the game seem less populated to new players and likely shouldnt exist. On the other hand for a sudo same effect as this, you can farm up the fray contracts rewards for the heafty 5000 impersonation.
4.)an item that increases the speed of ww efficacy regeneration
I am suprised that a fury would suggest something like this, as it hurts your class the most, with the way it is ww efficacy coming back faster hurts any class that focuses multiple subsystems.

Re: Quality of Life Wishlist
As a follow up to Rhindara's Faction and Clan comments, something that would also be a nice addition would be being able to set the amount of days a referendum will take, and ending an election/vote as soon as every person in that clan has voted. This would make referendums much more usable.

Re: Updates Post #311: Guard INRs
While 25,000 marks really isn't cheap for your average Starmourn citizen, the INRs given out to factional guards by HETE are under a special contract unavailable to normal people. HETE realizes there is good business to be had by catering to factional governments and their military, as guards and soldiers are more likely to die than your average citizen.
