Starmourn: Year 2 Incoming!
The year 2020 is right around the corner, and I know we are all currently in varying stages of 'prepared'. Thankfully we have Starmourn. So despite all the New Years resolutions we're probably going to make and break for the important shit, let's have a chat about all the shit we want to get done and plan to get done in Starmourn for the second year.
Are you going to make new friends?
Pick up a tradeskill?
Maybe dabble in some PVP?
Oh, how about finally reaching level 75?
I'm sure you all have something up your sleeves, so spill!
@Ilyos and @Eukelade feel free to also throw us a bone.
Everyone else, tag someone you want to hear from.

Re: Good Vibrations!
Really enjoying the recent PvP and the lack of OOC drama surrounding it. So thanks to everyone involved.

Re: Good Vibrations!
You acknowledge Teithedir in greeting.
Teithedir sings a little song. "I would live five hundred years, and I would live five hundred more, just to be the tree that lived a thousand years to give you plants galore."

Re: Good Vibrations!
Song is full of cool people, and the number of times I've been able to walk into a room and put out long-form emotes and receive them back has more than quintupled since the last time I played. I'm having fun, so...good vibes to everyone!

New player messages
Currently faction logs show whenever a new character is created - "This and that has arrived at Dawning". Can we change or add to that so the logs instead show when the player finishes their newbie tutorial? Consider this:
I log in and see an unfamiliar name over on FWHO. I check HISTORY FT - no one greeted them, no surprise, CA is a very small faction and often has 0 players around, especially during off hours. I check faction logs: the player created their character some time ago alright, could be 2 hours ago, could be 8, or yesterday.
Now the thing is, is the player still taking their time with the tutorial and I should leave them be? Or are they currently trying to grasp the game and may need some guidance or, at the very least, an in-character greeting to keep them engaged? We can't tell right now. It'd be different if someone was around when the player finished the tutorial (assuming they finished it) but once again, that can often not be the case, what with the game being small and off hours being a thing.
Moreover, I'd like to ask for the tutorial to instruct the players to check FWHO and that they can talk to other faction people using FT - just something to say at the very end, after the wetwiring bit, where the player isn't being bombarded by any other information. It's very useful information that isn't currently told anywhere. In similar vein new players should be suggested to read FHELP files - maybe not the whole FHELP INDEX as that feels overwhelming, just direct them to FHELP WELCOME. That way even when players log in when there's no one around to guide them, they will be able to get at least some assistance.

Re: Let's have that TL;DR bois
Overall, Starmourn seems much improved since I played last December/January.
Way WAY less players, which at first I was bummed about. However, the community is so much tighter now I don't mind it at all. When there are 300 players online, you only get to know a few really well. When there are only 12 active players in your faction, well you get to know them all (or at least over time). Also no more junkies rushing to your body to steal your replicator and items within a few seconds of your death.
Haven't explored PK yet, but from what I hear, it is also much improved. More opportunity for group PvP, just not the player-base to sustain it yet.
RP is back! When Starmourn was originally rushed with players, everybody was so focused on the gains that people just interacted with their old friends. Now that there isn't this overwhelming competition to level, people are actually standing around who you can interact with. @Vega's first interaction with Zhedan is basically what made me decide to stay beyond the first 5 levels. Now I'm hooked!
Hunting is about the same. Pretty fast once you get moving. Welcome back!

Re: Quality of Life Wishlist
Add a little message in caches for when there are no more crystals to be harvested, kinda like when you complete an incursion. 'All crystals have been harvested' or something like that. Would save us the trouble of doublechecking everywhere to make sure we haven't forgotten one.

Starmourn Memes
I didn't see a meme thread for Starmourn yet, so I figured I would start us off with a couple about my adventure so far:
