Re: Announcements post #65: July is Exploration and Xenozoology.
We talked very very briefly about xenobotany and yeah, it'd work like that (if we ever decide it's a fun feature). Same basic catalogue idea but you'd scan rooms as a whole and see what you discover.RebekahWSD said:I do plan on making a lot of plant based foods! More concerning gelatins, but without meat. Or just concerning things in general! Maybe we can have some kind of plant based hunting thing, but not scanning. Scrapbooking? Scrap...datasharding? Find hidden plants in rooms and add them to a collection, heh.

Announcements post #64: Titles, Honors and Economy Status.

From: Ilyos, the Arbiter
Subject: Titles, Honors and Economy Status.
Greetings Starmourners,
What good are all your hard earned achievements if you can't show them off, amirite? Well, now you can start showing off some of them. We've introduced the following:
- 5 new titles for the top 5 ranks (not players, but ranks) of explorers
- 5 new titles for the top 5 ranks (not players, but ranks) of hackers
- 5 new titles for captaincy, obtained at level 10, 20, 30, 40, admiral rank 1
- 2 new titles for people who complete shopfront honors
- Song Dominion and Celestine Ascendancy leaders can now display their position as a title
You can also display some of the honors you earn, via the HONORS FEATURE function. You can display MOST of them at this time, but not all. Notable exceptions are the newbie honors (the ones that refer to learning basic game functionality), manufacturing/factory ownership ones and a few others.
As always, this is a work in progress and more titles and honors lines will be added. Please feel free to comment in the forum thread with your ideas and suggestions for expanding this list.
You might ask why are there no honors and titles for manufacturing/factories...well, with our overhaul, some of the honors will probably change, get deleted or added. Therefore, it's unlikely that people could obtain some of the ones we currently have in game.
Regarding our Economy Update, we're working hard to make the experience as great as possible. Our awesome Garryn has just finished the first draft of our planetary exploration system and we're having fun playing around with it. We're in the process of creating the environments and enemies for it, so stay tuned for a little demonstration when that is done!

Re: Announcements post #62: Explore New Dikamazi!
I laughed out loud (for real) when you drank those drinks, and said, to my cat, "Why would she do that?"Slander said:Oooooh man I love this place. The whole Bushraki arc has been great (and sometimes stressful) but seeing this new area is amazing! Also, those drinks Slander should not be consuming. And the new gear! Thank you all, once again, for doing awesome stuff.

Re: Player Artwork/Designs?
Did a quick sketch of my character, a nanoseer Decheeran, during a lunch break when I needed to be thinking about something other than work. Might re-do it one day when I have more time to do a better job. Created with Procreate on an iPad.

There are a few issues you have all reported and they will be fixed tomorrow (xp, loot, etc).
Big shoutout to awesome Eukelade and her titanic effort to build this on such a short timeframe, and Soren for being so great in also managing big parts of the event! Best team ever!

Re: Player Artwork/Designs?
Here's my attempt to move off that yikes picture.
I edited an older sprite of mine to make it my IC piece. I'm hoping this counts as a player design over a player artwork.

Re: Player Artwork/Designs?
A fight in midair made for a fun mental image, and I wanted to try representing what I had pictured. A duel in Golpur, Seth (Fury) vs. Nylo (Scoundrel). Just the first sketch, someday I'll probably try to ink and color it properly.
Announcements post #62: Explore New Dikamazi!

From: Starmaker Eukelade
Subject: Explore New Dikamazi!
IC: In the Iota system, in neutral space, a fledgling colony of Bushraki settlers has been discovered on a newly inhabited asteroid. Named New Dikamazi, after their lost homeworld, the colony appears to have no immediately malicious motivations - though there are several elements of the area that might be considered hostile to outsiders. Historians and xenologists muse that it is the first fully Bushraki settlement to spring up in some time, the cyborg race previously having been even more homeless than humans. Time will tell how New Dikamazi effects the galactic landscape, but for now, its impact appears to be confined to its boundaries.
OOC: For the next few weeks, we invite Starmourners to enjoy what New Dikamazi has to offer, from new quests and monsters to the items available to be found, purchased, and consumed. We welcome everyone to test out our first dynamically scaled area which is accessible to players of all levels, and enjoy the unique, Bushraki-themed loot. But don't hesitate to explore, because when our monthlong event is over, these unique event features will be going away again (even though New Dikamazi is here to stay)! Have fun!
