Re: THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR USING THE N-WORD IN STARMOURN, IRE
Wow, yeah, it does pull from a precompiled dictionary of many hundreds of thousands of words. Obviously, we didn't check every possible word there, but yeah, wow, I'm sorry that this was in there, and you had to see it. Obviously in no way intentional, I'll do some refactoring right now so that it won't happen again.

Was on MKO from the first day right up until the last, missed the first day here (hunting IRL! hah!) and hopefully there won't be a last.
Yep, Dragon's rule!

Re: Earth Media
The bigger suspension of disbelief is that the only movies people in 2274 had with them were movies made at least 170+ years ago.ThePlaintiffReturns said:Seems odd that none of the media survived with the 'this is fiction, folks!' disclaimer that is at the end or beginning of pretty much every work of fiction ever. Suspension of disbelief is a thing, I guess.

Scatterhome Call Comments
One of the biggest complaints in Scatterhome has been regarding the amount of news posts and the amount of discussion that happens on the FT channel.
Part of that is the discussion that surrounds calls. There are a few issues and I think they can all be addressed with a simple fix.
First the idea.
Add a Faction call (number) Comment (text) option so that people can comment on the call. This would work essentially the same as the classleads or envoy features in Achaea and Lusternia respectively.
Part of the problem is that at minimum, Calls will likely generate 2 news posts. Person that made the call posting about why they did that, and person that is the target of the call defending themselves, then additionally have people weighing in on it.
News posts are permanent whereas calls only last for a month, so the glut of posts for each call just seems unnecessary. The only alternative to this right now is live discussion which then anyone not around for the discussion misses out on the input of other faction members.

Uh. Just to be clear, that's not QUITE what we were going for with wetwiring!Eoleva said:Having left two other IRE games on a bitter note, I am totally ecstatic with Starmourn.Wetwiring gets me wet. I don't need to say anything more.

Re: Lets talk about Nanoseers abilities. Nanoseer General
I don't understand comments like this. It astounds me when people honestly believe they are furthering discussions with this sort of slippery slope.Sagex said:zap is useless which means affinity is useless. drain is useless, interdict is useless the whole class is either broken or useless
Turn this thread into suggestions for improvement rather than whinging. Then you have something useful for the growth of the game.

Industry flowchart
Spent entirely too much time making this after I thought I'd be a useful idea, so here you all go. I colour coded the intermediate products for clarity. Left are materials, right are end results. On the arrow it lists how much of a thing you need to get to the next step. Products list their output units and what autofactory you need. Hopefully there are no errors but if you do spot one let me know.

Cuisine — No beverages?
Hi!
From the get-go I knew I wanted to take Cuisine as a tradeskill, which I inferred from this blog-post was to include both food and drink.
From asking around however, it seems this is not the case? And there are only food recipes available, no drinks?
I’d like to know definitively before I make the choice whether this is A ) Correct and B ) Intended.
If it’s intended, I would ask @Tecton, @Aurelius & team to reconsider, and not introduce beverages as a separate skillset, but rather to include them in the same one. My reasoning for this is as follows:

If it’s intended, I would ask @Tecton, @Aurelius & team to reconsider, and not introduce beverages as a separate skillset, but rather to include them in the same one. My reasoning for this is as follows:
- A chef should have the skills, ingredients and knowledge required to make both food and drink; these are not separate crafts any more than the ability to make shoes is separate from the ability to make dresses.
- Cuisine is already by far the most useless tradeskill, in that its function is purely RP. Eating isn’t a requirement in Starmourn and isn’t even as visible as letting players customise themselves with clothing and jewellery. So letting people who choose the ability to make cakes also have the ability to make juice isn’t excessive or imbalancing.
- You can only pick one tradeskill, and in the future maybe two. So if beverages were released as a separate tradeskill, forcing us to choose one of the two — or both in order to distinguish ourselves as caterers — would be pretty prohibitive.
