Re: Junk economy experiencing scarcity. PROBABLY NERFED
Hmm, I did find one issue:
We do have diminishing returns for bashing things below your level (so you can't plow through things below your level for easy profit). This was probably a bit too tight considering our current level/area selections, so I've broadened this up so that you will get full junk value for a much wider range.
This is live as of about 30 seconds ago, so hopefully that will resolve the problem.

Re: Good Vibrations!
My friends can vouch for my undying hatred of IRE games, the credit model, the PVE model, the inherent toxic power structures that come about as a result of the above, and so on and so on.
I was pressured into trying things out here by a diehard fan who had to hem and haw for quite a while to get me to agree to try it.
I'm glad I did.

Re: Fury Thread - Stay on topic.
For any others like myself whose head was spinning trying to follow where branch points in Battleflow progressions could lead you to, hopefully the image above helps...
As was mentioned above, there are also Rage stance change abilities but I didn't include the links as they broke the symmetry of the graph. For the sake of completeness, rage links allow:
- AIRLEAP - Eruption to Inferno
- AIRFLIP - Blaze to Eruption
- POSITON - Requires UNSTOPPABLE, switch to any stance.

Re: While there are no Gods
Yes, we'll have members of the admin team driving RP. Won't really be as buddy-buddy as Gods on the other IRE games, but yes, there's some plans there!Tobias said:One of the best aspects of IRE games, is the role play. One of the most rich drivers of that has been the Gods. Developers and administrators that(in addition to the behind the scenes aspects of the job) take on the RP role of Gods to add to the richness of RP and to push the narrative in certain directions. So my question is this.
While there are no Gods, will developers and administrators take on permanent in character roles of some sort here for the same reason? I think it’s loss would be detrimental to the world in game.

Re: Scatterhome Administrators
To be honest, no IRE org has touched on this sort of loose anarchy before. Hashan was more subtle conflict (though obviously there were execeptions .)Matlkael said:Historically speaking, IRE factions that prize infighting as an identifier (or just have infighting as an identifier) have not fared well. See: Hashan in Achaea.
Stability is necessary for a faction to thrive. Then again, maybe Scatterhome will be different.
Scatterhome straight up bucks the idea that you need a government to survive. The problem is people coming in and expecting it to be stable. It obviously isnt intended to be.

I reserve the right, at any time I want, to pull the system. If you have any issue with me doing this, then I suggest a) you don't piss me off and b) you probably don't download the system. I am doing this as a service to try and help people get started with the game, not for your own personal benefit, if you want to abuse that then you'll promptly see yourself back at square one or waiting for someone else who wants to put up with you.
If you have any questions regarding the system post them in this thread. If you message me in-game with questions you won't get a response.. My character is not there to help you, and I would ask you leave anything OOC-related out of my vicinity. If you can't respect that, then see the above paragraph. Similarly, if you PM me with questions I won't respond to those either. PMs will be reserved for people wishing to help add to the system, all others will be summarily deleted.
Now then...
Against my better judgement I've decided to put up my system for general usage.

Bashing
- The system will assume you have your skills, so I suggest not using it if you don't. For Nanoseer this means multistrike/swarm. For Fury this means up to rupture in battleflow (for swiftcut/wound/rupture) and up to rend in rage (for strike/unstoppable/flyinglash/rend)
- Presently it only supports Nanoseer and Fury bashing. If you're a beast, engineer or scoundrel that wants to use it then you'll have to help me add it.
- To toggle bashing hit . on your numpad, or use the 'bashy' alias.
- The system will automatically pick up targets as you kill them. Alternatively you can do 'bash add' while in a room with mobs to add them. 'bash area' will allow you to alter the priority that mobs are killed in.
- To let people follow you, or to follow people bashing, you will have to put everyone in the ignore list with 'bsi <name>' or 'bsi all' to ignore everyone currently in your room at the time of using the alias. This persists through logout, so make sure to remove them when you're done if necessary. If there's someone in the room when you enter who isn't being ignored, the basher won't attack.
General
Deffing and what not will be added after christmas sometime, and I'll edit this post with details. If you're not a Fury then list your defences here or in a PM. Don't message me in-game with system stuff, I'm not going to respond or acknowledge it. Read the pastebin thoroughly, if you don't then don't expect me to help you if something goes wrong. It lists precisely how to do things.
Updates are automatic. You'll be notified if there is one, I won't be posting them here.

Re: Scoundrel - Skill Feedback
Disrupting bullets isn't that good, aside from doing sensory subsystem damage. Which is pointless anyway since it doesn't actually do much for Scoundrel in the grand scheme of things. Mind/Internal is better in literally every scenario. Especially mind since once mind is drained you have probably ~20 seconds or so before your wetwiring gets hard locked and you die. Unless the Scoundrel you're fighting is absolutely awful and lets you regenerate.
Courtesy of Rahk: here's pummel, if you wanna say it's good:
Keep in mind the requirements for being able to use pummel in the first place, and it still being so laughably bad. Hard to take someone seriously when they've done literally nothing in the game outside of a few cosmpiercers.
Scoundrel has a few ways to defend themselves, I'll give you that. None of which apply at all in PvE, however, and are niche at best in PvP. Scoundrels are pretty decent, but like every other class they also have some pretty glaring flaws. Arguing they don't is ignorant at best, classes are getting loads of changes for a reason. Scoundrel included.
Maybe actually discuss things like the thread is for, rather than just shooting down everything everyone says because you have a hardon for people who play Scoundrel, and are trying to get it to a state everyone- including non-Scoundrels- are happy with. So far you've contributed nothing except whinging and moaning, despite not actually playing the game all that much.
