Re: Worth playing?
I don't think we're adding to the content of this discussion about the game's playability and I think it's safe to say this thread has run its course. -Y

Re: Station Missions
I think station missions need some rewards. Repairing stations should increase incoming commerce & trade and thereby provide more marks/ credits to the factions.
Further, I think station repairs should be an yearly thing rather than a monthly thing. At this rate it simply stresses the systems too much

Re: RP 'Rules' & Etiquette
If anyone walked into a room with that happening to someone, I'd hope they wouldn't just ignore it and walk away. Would you do that IRL? *boggle*

Re: Cosmpiercers: Problems and an Ambitious Proposal
Guards are a force multiplier outnumbered defenders can use to their advantage so the piercer fights don't become an easy calculation of "more people = win". Removing them doesn't solve the fundamental problem of cosmpiercer design. The problem is this:
Even without guards it's still an OOC scheduling arena because cosmpiercer raids are organized when your peeps are awake while the other faction's peeps are asleep/at work/school. This is not good game design.Matlkael said:Cosmpiercers already are drifting into the OOC scheduling arena precisely because you need an overwhelming force in order to be successful in taking cosmpiercers. This is due to the fact that you are required to deal with both player defenders as well as NPC guards.
Big pvp events need to be scheduled in advance so that all interested parties know when they happen and can show up. Not just a gentleman's agreement this time, it needs to be part of game mechanics: "cosmpiercer X becomes available for conquest at time Y, you have 2 days to do it and afterwards the conquest fails" or whatnot. Otherwise it's just a sneaky back and forth of "they asleep, we raid".

Re: Cosmpiercers: Problems and an Ambitious Proposal
a few days ago, I (just me) was able to hold off 4 CA players from our level 1 (or was it 2?) cosmpiercer solo for like 30 mins.
I should not have been able to do that.
The current incarnation of PVE cosmpiercers favours the defenders too heavily.

Re: Announcements post #51: The Future of Shipforge Supplies.
i do not think this will create as much of a shortage as you think it will. vandium and titanium right now are very rare in part because the other stuff is common. and it is common because miners aren't harvesting it we let those rocks sit out there untouched because there isn't a market for them. repair kits and batteries use mostly those other materials. take out the shipforge or make it so players can compete profitably with shipforge and you give us a reason to bring in those rocks.Cubey said:Autoposter said:We will be monitoring this transition closely to ensure that everything goes well and that we aren't left with a sector-wide shortage of ammo, repair kits or mining supplies.I was going to write a longer post but I'll keep it succinct and short.Still not enough commodity supply. Don't introduce more resource demand before you increase the supply. With supply as it is currently, if you cut SF supplies then shortage of ammo and repairkits won't be a possibility, but a certainty.

Re: Announcements post #51: The Future of Shipforge Supplies.
We need more resources.
It's better, but it's still a struggle to keep production going. I can't search for resources because I can't afford to refine them so I have to hunt for money so to get more resources, which means, since I don't have time, I have to hunt for more marks to afford the market orders.
At least with the shipforge supplies, we'll be getting some money coming in, unlike the guard and station upkeep. I'm not involved with the farms, so I don't know if that's impacting what we can find out in the open, but gases seem to have gotten a lot harder to come by the last few months. And I had to fly around quite a bit to find a titanium asteroid.
