No change to cosmpiercers was implemented unless 1. it was suggested by a song player or 2. it was updooted by song players.Need more proof? I had bugged (as a priority bug nonetheless) faction guards being movable for MONTHS and jack shit was done about that. But cosmpiercer guards are moved to block song players from taking it once, and suddenly everyone cries on the forum and, in less than 24 hours, a dramatic change is implemented that removes guards altogether. Thus giving an advantage to the faction with the largest number of active combatants, which just happens to be Song at the moment. What a coincidence. Not to mention we get a very unprofessional, very passive aggressive post that says "cheating is not right, mkay?" Even though it wasn't cheating when it was done before, because it wasn't done against Song. This is a pattern. No change is done in the game unless it benefits Song players. And when something cockblocks them too much, it gets changed quickly. Very quickly. And finally, the liaison for Song is most active from all three factions. Scatter didn't even have a liaison until like a week ago. The devs are always being proactive in wanking Song's ingame philosophy ("muh faction first, no sacrifice too great, fuck the enemy" - yadda yadda, you know the spiel) so much that it leaks into OOC. Just ask some Song players in this very thread.
Hang on, wait a minute. You priority bugged something and then proceeded to abuse it as often as you could? And you're mad that the people you used it against agreed with you and bugged it as well? You're also mad at the admin for chastising people (you) for abusing a bug?
Re: Cosmpiercers: Problems and an Ambitious Proposal
I had issued people who had abused that bug (and boasted about it on Discord in front of admins) and nothing was done about it for months. /shrug

Most of the playerbase (including once again several posters in this thread) have actively rebuffed efforts at establishing a more fair/less punishing pvp experience and decided that since the other peeps are from an opposing faction then they must SUFFER. Which once again, is Song's IC agenda but leaking into OOC. Acting like it's all sunshine and roses and ~we just want to create a scenario that is fun for everyone~ is so disingenous it makes me want to puke.
Alright. I'm going to establish that this advice I'm about to say isn't meant to be passive-aggressive, or aggressive-aggressive, or an attack or anything like that. Just me trying to be as real as possible.
Nobody, player or admin, is going to take you seriously if you have that kind of attitude. You might want to consider adjusting your stance on "what fits the game better". Otherwise, you can count on admin ignoring you.
Feel free to insult my intelligence or integrity or whatever else you like. It really only hurts your credibility.
Re: Cosmpiercers: Problems and an Ambitious Proposal
@Vaxis don't get me wrong - 1v3+ is downright impossible, 0/10 don't recommend. But once you have a partner, synergy makes the impossible quite possible. I don't think anyone's going to make the game support 1 person beating groups, that's just not balance.
That being said, claiming bias toward a faction doesn't do anything for your argument, and is just downright untrue.
Give the devs more credit if you're going to try and make an argument.

That's weird. Have you tried learning how to work together? Soza and I regularly engage(d) people while vastly outnumbered and came out well.

Re: Cosmpiercers: Problems and an Ambitious Proposal
The Cosmpiercer experience is generally an amazing thrill now. I was skeptical of the guard decision at first, but I love that it brings us pure group pvp. We've had some really fun fights and I hope they keep coming!
The one outstanding issue I see is just how easy it is to sweep Cosmpiercers when there are no defenders around. The experience here is pretty bland... destroy the gens, hack a terminal, wait 10 minutes, hack another, Fly to the next.
I understand if some don't see this as an issue. With the randomness of timers, over a long period the factions should be on equal ground if they're trading these sorts of sweeps back and forth, meanwhile fun fights will happen at the times where our activities overlap.
It's a very tricky balance, as too much control over vulnerability timers wouldn't work either. And I dont really have a solution to propose. I'm just wondering what sort of mechanics would lead to a situation where Cosms were always a group vs group experience, as I'm quickly growing burned out from back and forth sweeps of defenseless Cosms. Not pointing fingers, as both sides engage in this. At the moment, it's frankly necessary to do so as the cycle of retaliation is unending.
I don't really know. What do you think?

Plz no. Everything else in the thread is fine but not this. It's the equivalent of pretending to be another player on foot, the potential for abuse is too much.
Also nobody uses target locks in ship pve or pvp (or at least didn't used to, not sure how's the meta now but I doubt it changed much).

Re: Ship Improvements and Ideas
I don't mind having the ability to get away via overload. Granted, I might be biased, BUT 1) It's a super awesome reward for grinding to Admiral and 2) Admirals are the only pilots to lose captaincy xp (8%) upon destruction of ship. This is HUGE, particularly if rankings of Admiral mean something in the future besides just ranking. At Admiral lvl 5, I gain 1% captaincy per hard ship incursion.
I also think that Admirals shouldn't lose captaincy when their ships explode due to ships being stuck on a cosmpiercer. The ship isn't even being piloted at that point.
As for just a fun thing to have, it would be neat to have the customizable title option of putting "Admiral" in front of your name when reaching Admiral rank

REMOVE THE DEVOURER INCURSION. THEY'RE NOT 'HARD'
There, I've said my piece.

Re: Ship Improvements and Ideas
One thing I'd like to add as feedback to the last ship overhaul is the turning speed and acceleration of larger class ships. While I understood the intention of making a larger distinction between ship classes - - and one of these ways was to increase the difference in turning speeds and acceleration - - - waiting for 5+ seconds to make a 45 degree turn is really awful in a superhauler. If it weren't for skipdrives, battleships and superhaulers would be way too unwieldy.
I remember when I first got battleship (before skip drive changes) , I went out on an incursion and totally got schooled by Easy mining drones. Not because of the damage, but because I just couldn't even catch them. I then stripped my battleship of supplies and modules, where it just stayed parked until skipdrives were viable to use.
I hope that future ship modding helps maneuverability or even taking a look at current acceleration/turning speed algorithms to see if any adjustments need to be made.
Also, I'd like to see some more component choices for superhaulers and freighters. The only choice for capacitors is super tiny in comparison to the ship size.
