Re: Announcements post #57: Faction Engagement Missions.
LOVE the new CAC and the interactions its created so far around HACK CAC.
One point of feedback would be that the 'Racial signature' which gets logged -- while being cool flavor -- unfortunately kills the fun 'whodunnit' dynamic for basically everyone who's not Human.

Is it off by a day? The IYOT shows 9 Nov 3pm

Re: Quality of Life Wishlist
The ability to rename a shop category rather than remove/remake it would be helpful. Not that big a deal, it's just a bit of a pain if it already contains items.
Also, the ability to:
TT SHOP <name> SELL <thing> FOR <marks> <categoryname>
Rather than having to first stock, then categorise.

Well, there is an artifact that reduces the cooldown to 8 hours already.eel said:So, hacking contracts. I know the rewards haven't come out yet, maybe this will end up being one of the perks you can spend get, but...The cooldown on contracts being 12h suggests it's intended as a 2x per day thing, but obviously that doesn't work out since it will keep getting pushed back later and later.Eg. At 1:00pm I grab a contract, and finish it at 1:15pm. Now my next contract can only be grabbed at 1:15am, and when I finish it at 1:30am, I'll be able to grab the next at 1:30pm.So the cd is basically being pushed all the way around the clock, which sets it to non-ideal times, and hopefully this is not the intention. This can be reset simply by purposely waiting, but...why can't it just have a 10 or 11 hour cooldown instead?Indeed, I think I saw this here earlier, but the same principal should apply to all cds like this - subtract 1 or 2 hours so that the activity can actually be done at the intended frequency.
But one suggestion is perhaps it could be changed from once every 12 hours to twice every IC week, e.g. once every 24 hours in the same way that the World Wheel thing works. With that twice being either twice consecutively, one every 12 hours or whatever.
Then the artifact could be adjusted to let you do three every 24 hours, etc.
I am curious as to whether the artifact stacks, though. If you have two of them, does that change your cooldown to once every 4 hours? If you have three, would it become a 0 cooldown?

RP justification for skills/abilities/activities is beautiful.Ilyos said:The reasoning behind putting them at a moderately 'mid-to-high' level is that the organization behind them wouldn't just contact anyone. It's not a place where you prove your skills so much as it is a place where you apply them. There will be other low level activities to come.

Re: Hacking Contracts
It's just level 9 hacking. Getting to level 75 for pvp or like 18 for captaincy to reach Destroyer for ship combat takes much more time.Izrith said:Don't know.
I can't do them because you have to have a high hacking rank to even start on them, which I find dumb.
Wake me up when there are low level ones. They don't have to pay out a lot, just be a way to level the ability without endless grind on the same terminals.

Re: Hacking Contracts
Speaking as a Nanoseer with scan, it's trivial to find an information broker just by wandering around one faction's cities via PTP and a highlight on "information broker" - I can't speak for other classes.
However, if maybe a broker spawned in the same area as where you had retrieved the item for the contract, that would make a lot of sense. It's honestly what I thought would happen, I did not expect that they would essentially just be random spawns.
Regarding figuring out the corporations, probing the mobs helps. That's been the only way to figure it out that I've found.
I've really been enjoying this update so far, it's nice to have a goal for hacking that is beyond leveling up for its own sake. I hope the rewards include fun vanity items!

"Ancient Aliens": An informative history program about the Elders Races, who they are, and where they came from.
Re: Zeta Deck Teleporter
I don't personally have an issue with it. It was super convenient as a non-citizen, but the other two factions didn't have that easy in, and even if Scatterhome is less traditional, I don't think they should be easier to raid/harass/whatever.
