    You're not wrong. My thinking is that the devs went with humanoid aliens in some cases because that is easier for most people to relate to. Having said that, not all of the aliens are humanoid by any means. The Atarsids, Eckin and Cleax come to mind immediately, although there are more.

    An interesting idea for a plant species! I am pretty sure all player races intended for launch have already been announced, but I wonder if this is something they could add later as a NPC or enemy of some sort?

    I believe the devs are more going for Star Wars with bits of hard Sci-Fi. While I definitely see where you are coming from with your ideas, I don't know that spending the time to ensure that each race is biologically and physiologically accurate would add to gameplay all that much.

    Overall feedback regarding your ideas: You've clearly put thought into your post. However, I think you might be forgetting that meaningful and interesting gameplay is the end objective here. Some of these changes, while accurate, wouldn't really move Starmourn towards that goal (in my opinion) but would potentially cost time. Finally, since you did prompt for feedback in such an open ended way, I will also mention...

    Starting a post off like this came across to me as off putting in that it felt condescending and arrogant. Even if it is true, it doesn't exactly work in your favor to get people onboard with your ideas, in my opinion. Also, 5 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period is likely unhealthy! Be careful!

    Greetings! I'd say the biggest piece of recent news is the main Starmourn page ( being updated. Perhaps a bit of bad news, is that the release date for Starmourn was squarely pushed into 2018. There are tentative estimates of Q1 2018 as the release timeframe, however, like with all games that could shift. 

    It is also my understanding that an update is on the way soon related to a new character class. No specific timeframe on that other than "soon" but I believe IRE is waiting on some concept art to be finished.

    Additionally, it is likely that the lack of information lately is related to two things. First, Aurelius has been traveling a lot which has taken up a lot of his time, from what he has said (Source: Second, a lot of the Starmourn systems are at a point where there really isn't anything interesting to show about them. They are being worked on, but, revealing anything about them wouldn't make sense because their functionality could end up changing and/or what exists now isn't polished.

    So, to answer your question more directly, I think it's more about IRE trying to get things where they want them before releasing info.

    Just wanted to take a moment and say I really appreciate how many people have joined the Discord. There have been many good conversations about Starmourn (and other things too!) and it has really given me a chance to get to know some of the IRE community a bit! Being able to geek out and theory craft about Starmourn has made it easy to stay hyped for release!

    Awesome dev blog! I specifically like how titles and additional customization unlocks will work. Being able to display what has been accomplished by your character in multiple ways is great. 

    It sounds like if a person doesn't want to use titles, they can use the feature customization's to show accomplishments instead. In my opinion, this versatility is great.

    I can definitively say that at least one person who wants to RP/dungeon crawl without focusing heavily on PvP will exist in Starmourn. I am interested in RPing and dungeon crawling and while I'm not opposed to PvP, I strongly suspect it won't be one of my areas of primary focus. That said, I've never played an IRE game before so maybe I'll end up falling in love with the PvP system (unlikely, just isn't my style usually). My main interest is definitely role play and PvE though.

    Yikes. I realize I don't know you at all, and I'm certainly not attempting to bash or judge, but you seem kind of primed to be defensive. I'm sure you have your reasons for that, but, I will say that in my experience, if you go into a situation looking for something hard enough, you'll find it. From what I have experienced in my limited time in the community, I haven't found anyone who seemed unreasonably excited about attacking other players OOCly or ICly. Unless there is a significant amount of missing context, I don't think @Arsentar was trying to bash you or twist the meaning of your post.
