I feel like everything I learn is supporting my original character idea and that's exciting.
-
I've gone back and forth a lot because I love the differences and uniqueness of all three, but I think Martias and the Angel really solidified my desire to have my character start off in the Ascendancy. Especially given how recent that history is.

I FINALLY got around to reading this and it's absolutely brilliant. That sorta lore adds so much to the game to me and gives my character a hero she can canonize. A+

Technically characters in Mhaldor (Achaea) start out with the rank slave but it's not true slavery. Former slave is entirely possible though and can be RP-ed well.

I was just thinking yesterday that without surnames at the start, something like this would be super helpful and then this list appears. @Tecton has hacked into my …

I'm also really excited to interact with all of you IC. Especially anyone who ends up in whatever civilization I end up joining.
-
Can I play a slave / former slave? Then I really don't know which civilization I want.
-
The very first thing I'm going to do is make sure room descriptions are on verbose. Then my plan is to start exploring. One thing I really want to do is keep my basic character concept in mind during the early days and play my character true to the …

Everything I thought I knew was wrong and now everything is up for grabs and like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
-
@Groot I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it and now I can't unsee.

So this puts me back at square one with regards to deciding between the Ascendancy and Scatterhome. Gee, thanks.
(No really, thank you, I love you.) -
Fair compromise and I’m glad I have a few remaining!

I will say I like the mechanics of this, but I liked the idea of having to choose a surname at the outset as well. Especially on day one, so I'm sad that's no longer a thing. (Especially with surnames giving you an idea of racial-based language cues…

I'm excited to see all this Nexus love. It's come a long way, for one, but high usage means more development. And the work the team has done on making Nexus a completely valid alternative is amazing.
-
I'm just curious. I figure if there's enough Nexus users there will be decent Nexus scripting. Also Nexus is beautiful.

How early on can you join a dynasty?
-
This is awesome. Thanks @Aurelius!!

Zneer. The best. This is going to be fabulous.

(Quote) I had debated that. Good luck with the claustrophobia!

I think if other isn’t a default option, another race or two later offering variety would be nice? Other gender neutral races other than trees for those who view aesthetics as important in a text game.
Edited to add: I view aesthetics as… -
Along the same lines, we've used singular they/their/them for ages for an unknown. "Maybe whoever left their book behind will come back and get it. It'll be at the front desk waiting for them."

It's still January in the US. We know there will be guides. Will we be able to sign up as guides fairly early if we can learn the basics quick enough?
-
(Quote) Fair enough. I've only seen it done well a couple of times in over a decade. That being said, mine will be throwaways, I'm sure. Not gonna be all gung ho introducing myself only to disappear repeatedly.

Basically the one thing I know for certain is I don't wanna change classes a hundred times again.
-
(Quote) Autopilot! For when I'm lazy! I love this more already.

What keeps me from flying out into the vastness of space never to be seen or heard from again??
More seriously, how good are my navigation systems gonna be? -
What’s your favorite class, presently?

I have to say that it surprises me that there won't be a singular they/them/theirs option given that Decheerans have their own code and that this has been requested in other IRE games but that would have irequired a code rewrite. (But Starmourn was …

I have no idea about the Stormlight Archive, the only thing that came to mind were the Nath-el, namely for their humming and the hive bit? http://www.starmourn.com/races/nath-el/
