(Quote) Well that's the issue with the set up isn't it?
The most overt form of dissent is contesting the LC, losing that would also provide the LC with a gauge on how likely it is they could get away with "enslaving" the loser bec… -
Akh.
Anyways, I keep coming back to the point that if it's not fun then there's no reason to stick it out.
Though, now I have an entertaining idea on how the Ascendancy could have implemented "influence" heh -
Sure, though I guess that feels more like something I'd expect to see in the Ascendancy? Like it feels like what they would have been doing to people before the revolution.
My expectation for the Dominion at the moment would be that every… -
Yeah, the megacorps that render the poor/their employees slaves is a pretty common trope. There's a similar thing in Ready Player One with IOI or the sheer wealth of the Meths in Altered Carbon. Hallifax in Lusternia was effectively a business befor…

I mentioned elsewhere, but don't get me wrong, there's so much in what we know about the Dominion that appeals to me. The loss of the world and the refusal to give up, instead rebuilding. Kinda reminds me of the Martians in the Expanse (only seen tv…

(Quote) For me... I just don't have the energy for that.
It'd be a change to the core identity of the organisation, which also might be a reason someone wants to play there. The only reason I'd imagine it happening would be if the… -
IDK any more, maybe Ascendancy. But Scatterhome might be interesting.
Right now, just not sure if I want to sign up for the disconnect between what I was expecting with Song and the newest info. -
Hallifax in Lusternia has a caste system with the lowest being servants/indentured slaves. In the original implementation everyone started there and worked their way up but it's mostly ignored by the players now afaik.
It seems like ther… -
Well I mean it's citizens that get a vote, slaves presumably wouldn't so the LC is only really beholden, to a degree, to the will of the citizens. (i.e enough to maintain power)
It's not mentioned as indentured so potentially these people are s… -
Because it's the first thing that came to mind >_> :P
BUG the bug command isn't working

I mean, the first activity will really be "sitting around for a while throwing lessons at skills", but seeing what hacking can do will be interesting
-
I really hope not, the level of drama that org politics has bred over the years is a regular reason for large groups leaving from what I've seen.
-
(Quote) But in the Dominion and Scatterhome you would expect that a settled group would be consistently doing all of the activities that would give them influence. (this is an assumption based on personal experience elsewhere)
On top of … -
If influence is mostly a more active form of vote-weight, you can probably expect a settled group would be capping themselves out, particularly given the stuff that's listed for raising influence.
With that in mind, a settled group in th… -
(Quote) Yep, it can and has happened in settings with more than one person in charge, it's just significantly easier when there is only one person in charge.
It also doesn't really need to be for long, if they're stepping down they can … -
Having read over the different government styles, I'm more concerned about the Dominion than Scatterhome.
I feel like the concerns about people being kicked out or other power abuses seem more likely to happen there with one person in charge. -
(Quote) Elite is a per game thing, so those credit balances are attached to your account for the game they're on.
Of course, would be totally fine with that balance also coming over too. -
It's probably easier for it to happen in the elected official system tbh.
Like you're probably not going go to sleep one night and wake up the next morning kicked out of Scatterhome without any communication beyond the system messages.
-
Just the first things that come to mind.
Would the goal be to make influence gain roughly equivalent for PVPers and non-PVPers? Also, would there be an upper limit on influence, like a cap or diminishing returns? -

I wouldn't be surprised if there had been something for Moondancers in Lusternia a few years back, mostly because the strat was something like... launch fae, throw these hexes x seconds after the first command to time them with … -
The enjoyment, for some, would come from figuring out how to get to that "push one button" stage. Learning combat to the point that you can create attack routines and basic intelligence to handle combat. Also combat seems to shift over time as patch…

How prime a target something like that would be seems really relative to how much the other side can afford to divert their attention. Doesn't really matter if they manage to knock it out if doing so costs them the objective.

Maybe not in direct pvp, but it would be nice within the greater conflict system. There's a feeling of contribution in completing pvp objectives and it'd be nice to be able to get that even if you can't fight.
Like, the idea of a revive t… -

From memory, it only really considers rl money purchases. So winning a comp won't necessarily bump your retire value up but promos like directly buying lessons might?
Otherwise, that's it pretty much. They go into an… -
(Quote) It'll be interesting, cause there seems like there will be this period where a small group of early whales/dolphins will be pretty powerful (especially when people are getting used to combat) and then a few months later some will get …

(Quote) Same, I don't think I'd ever really retire my character from elsewhere but these retire credits from mko are burning a hole in my pocket.

One of my reasons for preferring Nexus is that it's really convenient if you use different computers regularly (which I do, including deep frozen ones).

Do you expect the easier ones (two control rooms?) would be doable during "off hours"? (maybe the low end of the average for the other games?)
Gotta have something to do when few people are around :P -
@Maygon, yeah. They've been mentioned a few times.
Might even, maybe, see some sort of endorsed/blessed status depending on how things go. -
(Quote) The flipside would be cool too, npc harvesters that you could go out and raid.
