I would like group bashing (or even just pair bashing) be actually viable.
-
With the way Starmourn is set up, bashing for more MILs, hacking, captaincy, etc. still feed into each other. As a prime example, gear (and mods, for now) are MIL-dependent.
However, removing straight PVE bashfests from PVP objectives is … -
Yeah, if that happens. do TIME once so that it orients itself properly. Glad you like it!

(Quote) I'm quoting my post to highlight the three different ways that cosmpiercer guards were a bad idea. It essentially makes cosmpiercers revolve around:
1. how to kill them fast enough
2. how to ensure your guards survive … -
There's not much strategy to KITH OUTBURST x5 and locking down the dock with a battalion of guards...
Also, I disagree that guards provided PVP as well as PVE opportunities. The moment a guard stack was placed on the dock, the cosmpiercer… -
I like channeled attacks because when interrupted, they do 0 health damage. Essentially, it's an opportunity for your wetwiring to regen your health without issue.
-
In other news, we took a cosmpiercer in around 10 minutes. The overall timers (30 total minutes, plus the amount at which control points contribute to the score) might need retuning to make a takeover longer.

The recent cosmpiercer takeovers have had a fair bit of ship PVP. They have their own issues (like how battleships can decimate any number of anything except other battleships), but it's markedly less boring than the guards meta.

I like that cosmpiercers are now PVP rather than PVE.

We're definitely giving it a good, thorough stress test
Bugs ahoy!

Most Engineers are relegated to heartstart/wormhole duty
Unleash the monster within, engineers!

This round of changes seems to favour having more population, and right now, that's actually CA, so.

I dunno what to tell you; we (Song players with certain exceptions) have been against the PVE aspect of cosmpiercers since the time of Sythiorn when we had 0 cosmpiercers.
This isn't a matter of "if we're on top then all's a-ok but if we'… -
@Paqu That might not be the solution we want, because then I'd be free to simply vacuumsphere, multiswarm, and barrage during cosmpiercers

I meant it's for the missiles part. rglass -> sensors -> missiles.
You're not going to see stesium being used because it's only for kinetics and thermals, and of those, missiles use vandium and tritium (in rglass) and batteries use … -
Fair point. My question then becomes: is it safe, now, to assume that moving and clumping cosmpiercer guards is a design feature that we should all be employing? It was implied that this was not the case, months ago, but nothing concrete has come of…
-
Please no increase drains in missions. To give you a rough example, stesium is hardly used because its use is in kinetic/thermal batteries/missiles. These also require the dreaded rglass (vandium + tritium).
A lot of the vandium and triti… -
Cosmpiercers already are drifting into the OOC scheduling arena precisely because you need an overwhelming force in order to be successful in taking cosmpiercers. This is due to the fact that you are required to deal with both player defenders as we…

(Quote) I firmly disagree, because what this does is that attackers are even more encouraged to attack at off-peak or with even more overwhelming forces.
addendum:
To give concrete examples, in Imperian, city raiding is … -
a few days ago, I (just me) was able to hold off 4 CA players from our level 1 (or was it 2?) cosmpiercer solo for like 30 mins.
I should not have been able to do that.
The current incarnation of PVE cosmpiercers favours the de… -
The problem of "PVE gives us time to form a defense" has so many better solutions.
Simple: just slap a "preparation" period to taking cosmpiercers. Let's take a level 1 cosmpiercer. An assaulting faction (Song) lands on the cosmpiercer, s… -
Not really a problem...I still have a good surplus of repairkits scavenged from Scatterhome.
But it simply highlights the many issues with the cosmpiercer system: it's incredibly costly with very, very few uses. -
(Quote) This is assuming that elessium and ultarine availability affects tritium's spawn rates. It might not.
In any case, it's a terrible system if it relies on players to be dumb and harvest trash resources in order to work. -
I'm still skeptical of the dominance of PVE is cosmpiercers (both guards and generators). It's highly reminiscent of Imperian caravans (and they were my least favourite!).
-
We've definitely noticed a large uptick on spawn rates, though. Titanium is far more common now. Even vandium (although it's still very small in amount).
-
So we've been trying to decipher Updates #175; specifically, we're looking at this line:
* Adjusted asteroid / gas cloud spawning rate, it should now adjust faster to higher demand
There are a few possibilities, first, r… -
