  • I'm not the devs, but it says on the starship basics page that homing missiles require a large number of shipsim cycles. There's always going to be a discrepancy there, the question is how much is acceptable?
  • I'm pretty sure attaching a shotgun to your arm falls under the "laser beam eyes" rule laid out in "help describe" or whatever the proper name of the file is.
  • 30 minutes sounds fine, but 90 minutes plus fighting time for guards plus time to fight defenders plus space shenanigans sounds like the highest rank piercers will take four hours to take. Then again I'm not a piercer expert so I could be way off.
  • Omni, iota, selubir, and gallen all require extended trips through non-faction-controlled space to reach by ship. If you want to have all out space pk, it's probably best to keep it behind either the current system wherein cosmpiercers are open, sin…
  • I did say there's a distinct possibility I'm stupid. A few hours of sleep later and I'm appalled at my own behavior. I sincerely apologize for my tone (if not my mistakes as that's how i learn). Thank you for the education.
  • It's taken me a bit to collect my thoughts on this system and I've come across a huge snag.

Miners mine gas and asteroids. This is an incredibly tedious and time consuming process,  but they collect their materials an…
  • So your solution is that instead of applying a bandage, we should bleed out while hoping we'll heal on our own?
  • Except insurance doesn't cover vitals like astromechs, repair kits, scoops, and ammunition. Also, I'm not sure why you think pk rules would change in a situation in which you have MORE to lose.

    If "I'm mugging you for…
  • In my mind, aside from the fee rising, the problem is that there's no way to sell your refined goods for a reasonable sum, so the only reason to do refining is for captaincy experience.

I'm sincerely baffled as to how this system is supposed to work. I don't mean mechanically, that I understand, but how this is ever supposed to make anyone in the world a profit. I'm trying to walk through the "Why" in my head, b…
  • The reason I ask is because if there can be random cargo market orders, then you can probably pump them up to requesting hundreds at a time and popping up around starmourn like incursions, then if you increase the prince they're willing to pay for t…
  • Are the various 1 order cargo market orders randomly generated by the system? Or are people ordering those?

(Edited because I remembered the answer to my own question)
  • Play the stock market.
Liquefy people who talk in a way that's a pet peeve of mine.
    Teach me kung fu.
    Meat-puppeteer me.

In all seriousness, I'm fine with my mindsim as is.
  • This is where scale comes in. Most of the space, even in populated areas, is empty. You could squish down the scale to the point where it would be legible, or you could work in chunks, and stitch them together with a numerical system. Preferably some…
  • As amusing as the doctor who and futurama references are, I don't think it's that stupid of a question. I've spent a solid decade on one character before and I very well might do so again if possible.
  • You do realize that this is a BETA, correct? Part of the point of a beta is, in fact, to make sure that everything feels good and is balanced. You're SUPPOSED to complain about the things that bug you, not bite your tongue so that when the game…
  • A rejuvinizer: reset an item's lifespan for a small fee.

A repairifier: repair your items up to 100% for a small fee.
  • I think it would be nice to have holsters and kithblade sheaths that are functional. I know holsters at least exist, but aren't functional at all. This is strange, not in the least because ambush literally describes you quickdrawing on your ene…
  • My guess, and I'm not a game dev so I might be stupid, is that things like the windmill drones have these attacks partially as mechanics reminders for players in PvP. You get ubermurdered in Selubir, so even if you haven't been paying attention…
  • You can use PATH FIND (KEYWORD) to find such places. I don't know what the keyword for that would be. Perhaps path find reaches?
  • Trip interrupts, I believe.
  • There's also the potential for you to get in trouble with your/the victim's faction to consider as a pk-deterrent. They probably don't particularly like people being killed for shoddy reasoning, and enemy status is there for a punishment, or wh…
  • Understandable, however lowbies (of which I am one) dying and being temporarily locked out of a cosmpiercer seems, to me, vastly preferable to "take two ships, fly one to cosmpiercer, connect them with wormhole and send never-ending stream of soldie…
  • I have a new, probably stupid, almost certainly controversial, idea.

The cosmpiercers are taken by zerg rush in a lot of cases (or at least they were), so you could make it so that people who die in the cosmpiercer ar…
  • Is this a bad time to mention that IEDs degrade? You really shouldn't make that many as they only last a real life week before going bad and disappearing.
  • I'd like to see a feature wherein players can write "Secret Files" within the game, which could be anything from (hopefully credulous) reports of incidents written by faceless government goons, that manuscript they're working on, entries from t…
  • There's a list of damage types and a list of afflictions, but there's no explanation I can find of what they DO. I'd like the help files to contain that knowledge please.
  • Trying to fly to Glisal II from omni station using autopilot has a disturbing tendency to take you straight through the ribbons of solar energy surrounding Glisal itself, as well as the debris band surrounding Glisal II. It can easily scuttle your s…
