Re: B.E.A.S.T. hunting, Thematically, feels horrible.
Must be equally depressing for engineers to be most efficient in hunting with a crane bot instead of a shrapnel shotty and/or minitank...

Re: Player character demographics
The idea that Human+Scoundrel = Generic Character is silly. There's a lot more to a character than class and race. Class doesnt even have to be the central theme of your roleplay, and human roleplay can practically go anywhere. If anything, I find the other races to be more prone to producing generic chars as people shoehorn themselves into the few things mentioned in the lore about their chosen race.

Re: An update on bashing?
Nanoseer is just bad vs any other class. like scroundal, beast, and engineer easily beat them and fury only because of their combos outclasses them in pve

Re: Engineer
So just for reference, you can now get the same kill time essentially 3 different ways:
1. Bot claw (old style)
2. Bot claw + turret
3. Junkjet + turret
Engineer's overall effectiveness hasn't really changed, but we have a couple of options depending on preferred flavor.

Re: Incursion Drops
Probes dropping are mostly useless. Change the probes to more sellable junk or selleable via market orders.

Re: Player character demographics
Lower than Cubey's stats, which would put them at anywhere between 66-75% (depending on whether you want to compare them within the binary split or wider gender pool).saturnine said:Human female Nanoseer and, yea, most recent census had males at 58.2% of population.
But then I suppose their methods of data collection are worth taking into account: top 200 players. I'm a cis female (allegedly!) playing a cis female but I'm not in the top 200 XP wise, so I wouldn't be counted. I don't want to get too bogged down in speculative pop science, but just for casual funsies: arguably men do represent a more sizable audience within Starmourn, but are also overrepresented among those driven to the hard grind? This would be consistent with stats on male vs. female gaming habits.

Probably wrong, but it feels like Scatterhome will fluctuate wildly for a bit until we figure things out.

Re: Scatterhome Administrators
I'm curious why people think Song is a huge threat. What're they going to do, keep having all the cosmpiercers at us?
Of course it's a danger in an IC sense, but in terms of game mechanics I don't see how it would play out barring a huge dev-created event, and I don't see one of those happening until at least official release.

Re: An update on bashing?
The fact that it's the easiest PVE in IRE doesn't mean that people shouldn't still voice their issues with the system. "It's okay because Aetolia has it worse" is a pointless justification for somebody whose only IRE experience is Starmourn.
I agree that PVE here is miles ahead of any other IRE game I've experienced (dabbled in Achaea and Imperian until level 60 or 70ish, so it doesn't count as much experience really). Abilities working on mobs, the way curing works--it's all been expanded very well and I think we're moving in a great direction.
There is still work to be done though, and many agree with this point. It's good to have you voice a different opinion, but it doesn't at all negate the legitimate concerns others being up.
